I'm sitting here in LA and new to this forum. I've played a little, but really am inexperienced even though I think I do all right as a DOM. I'm here to learn.

You might wish to take a meander around the knowledge Forum, there are soooo many threads there it is impossible for you not to start shooting straight up the learning curve.
