Soft
Gentle, now, love.
Let your body down slow
Let awareness slowly come
Let sensation softly creep
Back in.

Soft
Gentle, now, love.
Allow your mind to speak
Let the tentacles of thought
Soothe their way
Back in.

Soft
Gentle, now, love.
Allow your heart to beat
Follow your slowing breath
To find the way
Back in.

Soft
Gentle, now, love.
When you can, open your eyes
And look deep into his eyes
To see your way
Back in.

Did he take you everywhere you wanted?
Did he take you everywhere you could?
Did he take you further than you ever dreamed,
Did he show you wonder?
Do you still wonder?

Soft
Gentle, now, love.
Give him, too, this gentle time.
The power of your gift
Is your dominion
Over him.

Thanks, guys. Timberwolf, I am honoured to receive appreciation from you.

Aah, Warbaby, that's not meant to sound mean - sorry. :o. I am honoured to receive any appreciation from anyone, actually, but I think Timberwolf is a bit special in the poetry arena. :) After all, I don't think this would be here without him? (reminder to self - check TW's profile to ensure is a him...)

Nicely done! Almost classic in its use of repetition to force the scheme. For the most part it rolls off the tongue quite lyrically and naturally. I always do enjoy poetry which seems to just be prime for being read aloud!

You do me too much credit moptop, but thank you all the same for your kind words. I don't consider myself any more valuable than any other poet here. Or less valuable, if it comes to that.

Oh, DeSade, you are too kind! :o

it rolls off the tongue

And we all like things that do that...

Indeed - like Dancing. Just loved that.

The repetitions slows one down, lulls the reader into the poem softly, fitting the sweetness of the mood, loving and tender.

You did wonderfully on this one as the other stated. The flow is so natural and easy...almost swallow you up in the Soft, Gentle flow. ;)
