Is there anyway I can pay someone in support of this site and get rid of the jasmine video sex banner ads at the top of the pages. I would be more than happy to do a subscription, an annual dues payment, anything if we can have the opportunity to not have to load and reload all the images everytime I update screens. It gets tedious and they aren't getting any of my business anyway. It is the one really pain the butt thing abou this site and it annoys me.

As far as I know, the answer is no - although Rabbit1 will be able to give you the definitive answer on this one.

Back in the olde site days there were no banners, merry subs ran naked from forum to forum and Dom/mes sat back relaxing in their favourite arm chairs.

There was a part of the site which you could pay to visit, and a few did. But the site grew; and the bare feet of the many subs wore the carpet thin and Dom/mes demanded replacements to their worn out floggers. Tiger once again went to his pot of money from the paying part of the site and found that there was not enough to cover the cost of running this wonderful establishment so had to invite sponsors to help support us.

Initially this move was universally hated by everyone, Dom/mes struted in a frustrated manner, subs cried at the feet of the empty leather arm chairs and there was a air of general misery.

A few left, some returned, but we have come to embrace the harsh reality that bandwidth and server space has to be paid for. The great Dom/mes in the sky could have charged us all for accessing this wonderful place or kept it free to all. Most of us applaud the fact that it is still a free site.

Awaiting Rabbit's confirmation, but I am sure I would have heard if there was a way of paying a subscription...

I hate to get a head of the official answer, but I do know that vbulletin (the software on which this system is built) is very robust and allows the admin a lot of leeway in how the system is crafted. Other sites of which I am a member who use vbulletin to operate their forums do have the ability to subscribe and eliminate certain portions of the advertising. I just thought it might be an option for those of us who don't mind paying to support the board to get rid of the ads. I also understand that the ad revennue is probalby based on either views or clicks. If it is based on page views then obviously the operators don't want to allow people to opt out of the banners being counted everytime a page is refreshed. IF it is based on click throughs, then they aren't getting any revenue from me anyway and anythign that I paid to get rid of it would be money found for the system to operate.

I agree that keeping as much of the site as possible free is a great thing. I too applaude the powers that be for the decisions they have made and the robust community online that they support. I'm not really trying to cause waves, just curious mostly.

you are correct in this --but first you have to have it set up that way and it is not because there is not enough members willing to pay to do this ---most like it free and ignore the banners of the sponsors if it means they have a free play ground

so if you can rally a few hundred people willing to pay a site access fee then we may do this in the future ---the response I got from this question is only a few are willing to pay ---very few ---lol

Any idea what we are talking about in the way of a fee? That way maybe a poll could be taken to see the interest.

After making this post I saw your new rule #16 so maybe this is now a moot point.

I suppose the exact fee would be according to how many people were willing to do this and the operational costs split by that many people

Thanks, I kind of thought so much.
