Not a new rule but a better explaination of one of them

Spam ----the new part states

Pming invitations to other sites is considered spaming ---it is the same as getting them in email ---if you did not request them ---if reported you will be banned for spaming members of the site.

I have had reports of this going on ---and members who do not want their PM box filled with junk like this

Can we put the spammers on the cross first...

no no .. . lets tie them to a chair and force them to watch every episode of Andy Griffith that were produced. . . .

Personally, if it were up to me to 'torture' a spammer. I would choose to make them watch every late night infomercial ever produced.... TWICE. Then once they started to drift off to sleep, I would give them some "go go" pills (the military uses them for pilots) to MAKE them stay awake. Once that didn't work anymore, I would probably set up a electrocution chair that was not active as long as they kept proper posture (sleeping would not keep proper posture). Thus tormenting them to the extent I felt would result in them electing to never post spam to anyone ever again.

Of course if it was website spam, well I think making them manually type out the address they attempted to push onto me one thousand times (repetition can cause you to think of nothing else for awhile) while their keyboard was electrified, so if they stopped typing it electrocuted them thus forcing them to comply.

Aww such fun punishments to imagine.....

Me too Woogsbie!:) But that's probably because we both live in the lovely state where the show took place?

Nah! It's gotta be the cane pole fishin'! ;)

No never had one. Though I know the people who take them, avoid it if possible.

I got the perfect torture for the spammers. Tie them and make them listen to the theme song to "Barney and Friends"

was going to add this to my last post, but couldn't find the modify button.. lol

Is posting a link to a personal forum against the rules? I have a forum I am starting for submissives/slaves to share recipes and other ideas. Kind of a "Bring the service back into the lifestyle" site... but it's members only, so I was wondering if that was what was meant in the rules about not posting sites ya have to become a member of. (It's a free site, ya just have to register to read it)

Thanks!

So me sending a pm to someone saying " this might be of your interest" would be a cause for banning me from the site?
I have done that, several times. Both as jokes and as wanting to discuss or share info.

Timberwolf

I wouldn't worry about that MsUther. People here know you're a regular and your post count proves you contribute around here all the time. I think they are more concerned about people who register an account just to shill something.

Sooo.. . I cant spam the email addresses trying to sell DeSades Delightful Degreaser and All Round Cleaner?

Yes I share MsUther's concern- I often find interesting sites & send the URL to a friend. Am I to be banned for sending Oz the name of a site dedicated to '100 different ways to wash a motorcycle?'

Should I send a PM first saying 'Oz would you like the addy of a site on bike washing?'

Please explain.

I am afraid it is this is not a place to advertise your own site ---you may put it in your profile as your homepage ---but not announce it on the site

Tojo,

Please send me all sites with information on bike washing if said sites include nude female bike washers.

Rabbit1 is talking about personal sites being sent via PM. Not joke sites sent via PMs or PMs that give special information sent for the recipient.

Like he told TheDeSade...his would have to part of his profile. It's his personal site. I hope I am clarifing right.

Well I am still confused...so if Tojo was to send Oz, unrequested the URL - ww.naked_ladies_washing_bikes.com - would that be allowed or not? And does it make any difference whether it is a free site or not?

Speaking of naked bikes....

The rules are simple there - naked bikes should only be ridden by ladies in leather.

what about messages from completely unknown people inviting you to join them in the chat room? this happened to me once and i went to the chat room...immediately, the guy wanted to private message with me, being super familir - it was just yucky. it happened again just the other night but i was smarter this time...just ignored him!

I am sorry to hear about that orchid - and it is not right. If you would care to PM me with a few more details I can hopefully stop this from happening again.

I have no way of knowing unless someone complains ---and then they have to forward me a copy of the PM ----a lot of people have home pages or forums of there own ---many do not want this information ----this forum did not build it membership off of spaming or posting the address on other web sites ---it did it by being a good fun place ----and advertising---

what has brought this about is I have had complaints ---about former members starting their own forum and instead of advertising some are PMing invatations to their new forums trying to build membership from this sites membership ---not a big problem but some of the ones they PMed did not appreciate it ---they do not wish to go anywhere else ----just like most do not like their email box filled with spam from unwanted information

so to answer your question if OZ complains and sends me a copy of a PM that is advertising another site ---yes you will be banned ---if he don't complain then I do not know about it and it must not be spam

I must have missed the meeting where joining another forum meant I had to give up my BDSM Library membership.

Oh - I think we can go wherever we like Timberwolf - just not use the PM facility on this site to do cold selling for another.

Feeling pleased that I think I have at last 'got it'.

it means no such thing ---it means do not use the site to advertise other sites if such information is not requested ----I am a member of many forums and sites ----but I do not PM you to join those sites ----if you want the information of some suggested sites I will be glad to give it to you but by my just PMing you unrequested information ----that is spam ----

Hugs - you, and anyone else who experiences unwanted PMs of any nature is always free to forward to them. This should be a safe place, and whilst we are not PM police, harrasment will not be tolerated.
