Hi Level Three Students,

With the holidays ahead, good memories to be made and stuff in life that happens, taking a break can be good for the soul.

If you're taking a bit of a break from the course - and most of you are - please take a moment to ask yourself if you want to keep working on your writing here, in Level Three.

If yes, then please make a commitment to get started again, pick a date in the future and go for it! Everyone should have an assignment or two. If not, please let me know in the "who needs an assignment?" thread.

If at anytime you want to take an extended break, please let each other and your instructors know about it here or by pm to the current instructor of this level.

Thank you in advance.

To each of your successes,

Ruby

FYI: I'll be off-line the week of June 17th. We've got some home improvement projects which may keep me offline a bit longer. I'll be back as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, I know everyone will be working very hard on their assignments while I'm gone. ;)

Hello, Ruby, and all at Level Three. I have just finished Level Two, and have arrived here. I am starting the reading assignments, but will not be able to do any writing for the next two weeks. I will let you know early in September when I am ready for a writing assignment.

I have read a couple of the threads here, and Level Three seems to be a friendly, challenging and helpful place. I am happy to be here.

Welcome Nancy!

I'll be sending you a PM in the next few days to get you started and you can begin your assignments whenever you are ready.

All,

As I get ready for my trip in September, I'm spending less and less time here. Please use e-mail if you need want a faster response time.

I'll be offline and unavailable from about Sept 3 through Sept 14.

I am about to go off line for a couple of weeks and will not be able to do any writing until probably the 15th September, when I expect to redo the story which I have posted here.

I'll be mostly offline from October 22 to November 1st.

If you need to get ahold of me, e-mail will be the fastest method.

I'm sorry, I'm just not around much generally. I'm not writing, at all... I'm not even reading, at all - I havn't read a book for 2 months! I'm just busy with real and online... sorry.

I actually havn't forgotten - the rewrites I need to do; the photo-story assignment; the joy of ripping others to shreds and being well ripped... but I don't feel I have the right to do any ripping, when I'm not putting anything up to be ripped.

I shall start another writing phase sometime soon, I'm sure

Oh Ruby,

The photo assignment has me stumped. I looked through what seemed like thousands of great pics and can't find one I want to write about. I wouldn't blame you if you have given up on me and thrown me out of level 3. I just cannot get inspired by the image of humans I don't know enough to write a story about. Paintings are worse, leaving me totally uninterested in writing about the subjects.

I appreciate art, don't get me wrong... I have be studying the third person perspective and really want to write something for this level from that angle but to claim a photo and make it a story is just not working out for me.

May I have another chance and another assignment? I feel beaten and haven't been able to write anything for class. Please? Maybe I am just hopelessly blocked and another assignment won't help, but I would like to give it a try.

Thanks,
BP

Welcome back, BP

If the photo assignment didn't work for you, that's okay.

Turn it inward, write about the struggles you've had with this from the third person. Make your lead character, the lady who is searching through photos, seeking just the right one and finding nothing that will work for her.

What did your fictional counterpart go through?
For whom is she searching?
How will she solve this problem?
What type of photo(s) is she seeking?
What will she do next?

If you want to write a dom/sub story, then your leading lady could have been searching for a photo for her dom.

What is she thinking, doing, before she has to break the news to him that she didn't find what he wanted?

Will she be punished?
Rewarded for her honesty or efforts?
How?

Have fun with it!

Moptop,

Even if you aren't writing, I'm very happy to have you reviewing other students work and cheering them onto bigger and better things.

Who knows, it might even inspire you to do more writing!

Hoping to see you active soon,

Ruby

I'll be out for a few days, returning this Saturday, December 8, 2007.

While the cat's away, the mice can play ... and be productive.

Hi all.

I've just been told to present myself here for further orders, although as I came in, I noticed that we should use this thread to announce forthcoming absences. So, before I get started, please do not expect any contributions from me before the back-end of January. I have a full schedule ahead at work and domestically.

However, I shall be reading the posts, and will respond to any communications you send me.

I look forward to becoming more involved in the New Year.

TYWD

I'm a bit behind here. Lot's of deadlines at work before the holidays. Besides this writing as a guy thing is very challenging:30:

I haven't forgotten but may not get my next story posted (or participate a lot until after Christmas)

I I don't post again for a while Happy holidays to all

Deadlines, holiday schedules?
I'm feeling them, too!

Looking forward to seeing more of you both in the new year.

Happy Holidays!

Hi All!

* waves from my desk, where I'm chained to it *

I'm currently getting slammed at work, with no break in sight until next week.

Please take some time to read your peers stories/assignments and comment.

Also, please take a look at the thread about POV and comment. I'd like to hear your opinions.

Hoping you and yours are having fun and getting merry this holiday season!

Hi All,

I'm heading out of town for about a week and am not sure if I'll have Internet access.

My first week of "vacation" was much busier than I expected and all of those stories are just waiting to be read.

Please keep up the reviews and suggestions for each other.

Happy New Year!

Hi everybody,

This is just a quick check-in note to let people know I haven't dropped completely off the face of the earth. Study and such is keeping me very busy and leaves me only a limited amount of time for playing online. What time I do have is now spent in the BDSM Library Academy. It's expected I'll write some interesting stories as part of my experiences there and I'll post those here for the sake of your reading pleasure.

That's about all for now. Hope everybody had a great holiday season and that 2008 is being good to you.

Hi Everyone,

My new gig is keeping me busier than ever.
I'm missing reading your stories and working with you.

Thanks for supporting Mad Lews, Nikita and Dean as they help to keep this level alive.

And for those of you working very hard on your assignments,
and helping out by visiting the other levels to add your encouragement, a special thank you.

While I'm traveling from here to there, I picked up Stephen King's book "On Writing" and I highly recommend it. The time and dollar investment will show in your own writing.

To your continued success,

Ruby

What the hell do we do in this level, anyhow?

Nikita
03-07-2008, 06:26 AM
I don't really know why this level exists but I believe Rabbit was responsible for the set up. But from what I understand, this level not only covers story content and development, but more importantly the technical asspects of producing work that is publishable. (intentional misspelling. :))

Well, it's not that it hasn't been talked about before. So it was a valid question. :)

Professor H. Dean:

I'm afraid getting settled after my move (and starting a new job) is taking a little longer than anticipated. I've still got my assignment, and it is partially complete, but I haven't had time to get back to it, yet.

It may take another week or two before I have something to show you, and I didn't want you to wonder if I'd disappeared into the ether. Therefore, I respectfully request a two week extension on my latest assignment.

Thank you.
