Visible anxiety announces my pain
letting the outside world know that I hurt
a thin red line or a bluish-purple mark speak in volumes
that my voice can never reach
silently conveying so much
yet, saying nothing at all
to those unaware
To the knowing ones
is told the wordless story of my pain
my cuts and bruises
shout the secrets I guard
Even so, the world goes on
barely noticing
I'm here at all
