It Begins

[usafmedic22]

flame kissed wicks light the room
virgin cord coiled upon fresh linen
apprehension mixed with anticipation
as her journey begins tonight
unable to still her trembling hands
piece by piece peels off her clothing
letting it fall to the floor
unbinding her flaxen locks
cascading it down her shoulders
pulse quickens as time draws near
she kneels in wait by the door
when silently He enters
footsteps circling around her
silken cloth quickly covers her eyes
taking her hand, He whispers
“Are you ready”
without a word she nods
“Then rise and come with me”
