Razor blades, and broken glass; burnt ashes...

Shattered mirror, blood stained hands, torn apart; never again...

Cracked image, like her soul -
Tempting Kali - goddess of death.

Bringing about a longed for end
To this nightmarish existance.
Painful reality... and the hungered love
Never again to feel warm breath, and sweet embrace.

Her hand covering the pale, flesh warmed globe of her breast
Feeling the hardening nipple against her hand
As her empty, black streaked eyes, look to the mirror -
To her putrid reflection.

The light reflects on clean, steel blade
Man-made intervention in final rites
As she whispers to the creature - creation - staring back -
To that burning thing, lurking deep...waiting.

Blackened nails, and crimson hands
Draw the blade deep along her ribs
As she watches the slow trail of blood
And the creature writhe in agony.

She cuts again, quick and deep - expert already
In the painful, needful rite
Watching the creature claw at mirrored image
Sadistic smile crossing blood hungry lips

And then, she whispers... lips shaking
"You won"

"Is this what you want!?"
Drawing the blade along her hip,
Feeling it mold to the curve of her flesh
As her twisted double beats at the glass, shaking her world.

She breaks.

The hard coldness of the tiles meet her back...
And those dark wide eyes stare at the blinding light
While her ethereal form feels the creature's grip
About her throat, as steady breaths join the feel...of flying.

Quiet whisper, creatures hungered red eyes watch claws dig deep
"You won..."
As she is drawn into the depths of that world
Dragged... a bloody trail left behind.

And the mirror is whole again.

Her hand brings the warm blood to her lips, watching the flicker of light
On the white starch ceiling
As she sucks the crimson life away, whispering:

"You won."
