View Full Version : Another new sub

Hi everyone,
I have been hanging around for a couple of days and finally got my nerve up to introduce myself. It's the typical story that I'm sure you've heard before...My husband and I have been married almost 20 years and I recently acknowledged and began to take ownership of my own submissive nature. I've begun to communicate this to my beloved with mixed results.
So, you ask, what does she want here? I want friends that I can talk about this lifestyle with - it's not something you bring up with your girlfriends over coffee, is it? Both subs and doms - I value and want to learn from both sides of the coin. It seems as if being a good sub involves great understanding of and empathy for our doms...and I so much want my husband to be happy and pleased with me.
Much gratitude to tessa and MasterStone who have both been so welcoming to me as I stumble about...

Thanks to everyone - I do feel comfortable here. The only other time in my life that I participated in an online community was about 12 years ago when I got my first computer and found an online moms community (the teenagers are almost out of the house now, praise the Lord!) So, please let me know when I make an ettiquette mistake or offend anyone!

his_j,
Hello to you, and welcome!
I, too, know what you mean. This is the most fantastic group of people...I'm constantly surprised when I think I've only been here a few months--it feels like forever!
If you ever need someone to talk to, my PM box is always open, or more likely, you can poke your head over in the chat room and find me there! *hugs* Enjoy your explorations, and remember...have fun!

Ettiquette - there is only one rule - all the mods, supermods and admins can be bribed with chocolate, although preference for colour varies.
If your motives are right, you are not likely to offend, but it might be worth checking that you have read the rules which help to keep this place somewhere we enjoy being.

Welcome and I'm sure you'll fit right in. We're nice and together I'm sure we can help you into your transformation into a fully fledged slave. I like how you say that you "took ownership of your submissive nature". We should all be our own destinies master even if we do chose to let it be guided by anothers hands.

Exactly - I've done a lot of reading about BDSM relationships in the last few days and have gained some understanding of the responsibility aspects of this choice - both sub and dom. Vanilla folks (yes, I guess I am still mostly vanilla in real life, though I don't want to be :) really don't have a clue about the reality of this choice do they? I know I didn't - just had some fantasies and desire to begin acting them out (working on that!) but the actuality of making that work for two people is very complex, isn't it? Particularly in a long-term relationship like I'm in, that has been based on the mainstream concept of equality. I'm practicing a lot of patience and reminding myself that you can't ride a bike until you first ride a trike!!
Have a wonderful day!

Online is great! I was able to do a lot of exploring online before moving into real life. Who knows? You might just find a new friend or 2 that you'd love to meet in real life who turn out to be more wonderful than you ever expected.

I've been here a few months and have learned a lot. The people are open and friendly and willing to share. I feel like I've been here forever, yet like it was yesterday.
