First Assignment for Frozen North

Your first assignment is to write a short story or scene that begins with this line.


There was a collective groan in the airport lounge; the loudspeaker announced that, due to weather, all departing flights were cancelled until further notice.

And there was a groan from frozen_north's computer. A voice came over the loudspeaker saying "Due to vapor lock, we will be banging our head on a desk until further notice. We will conclude this flight with twelve hours of frantic scribbling..." :D

Thank you, I'll get right on it.

Btw, please tell me this doesn't have to have a bdsm element. I don't know enough about the subject yet to write about it convincingly. Not to mention the fact that I can't even begin to IMAGINE how I would work that element into the assignment at hand...

Oh and someone famous once said that writing is staring at a blank sheet of paper until beads of blood break out on your forehead.
