I looked through all the stickied threads and did a search.. what do you get if you win? Knowledge that your writing beat out 3-4 other stories by other authors? A free month of _____? Something else entirely?

I believe you get a plaque posted on your signature, visible with every post you'll make. Now, as Miles Davis observed, you can't eat a winner's plaque, but it carries some honour.

you get a little award that you can put in your signature (like the one in mine only the one for the story contest says "Prose Contest Winner") and yes, you get the knowledge of knowing your story was voted on more than the rest of the entries...along with lotsa congratulations :)

Then again if you're heading the other way perhaps we could send you a subbie holding a nice riding crop between her(/his) teeth. (more volunteers needed)

Well, the badge of honour in the signature is better than most things you get for submitting stories online. You normally won't get a thing. Even though it is a small prize, it is thus uncountable times better. You know, zero times anything is still zero.

There's one other thing you get: your story is published in the Winner's Circle. I have linked to my winning stories there in my signature.
