50 shades.....get over it!

Rating: 1 votes, 2.00 average.
Alright people...I see an influx of opinions and ideas about this book, on several different sites both lifestyle and vanilla. How it's such affront to our lifestyle *rolling eyes*, why do you get so offended when people don't know any better and then on the opposite spectrum how can we condone the abuse in the movie from the vanillas...it's a BOOK. I am in the lifestyle, is the book real...well NO...DUH!!!! It's a book...a work of FICTION!!! This is why we read, to dip our toes into other lives that we don't lead...it's a love story. I really enjoyed them for what they were portrayed to be, fictional characters who fell in love and changed for each other. At least she bothered to research and understand what a relationship is between a Dominant and a Submissive. But don't let people fool you, there are thousands out there that would either want to be Anastasia (me me me me shiver!!) or to be Mr. Grey, no matter what spouts outta their mouth. This is ALL GOOD PEOPLE, that is why you read FICTION.

The only problem I did have was that the premise of his joining the lifestyle was because he came from a abusive childhood. Do these things happen in real life...YES!! Are some people who had abusive childhoods in the lifestyle...YES!! I just don't want everyone out there that is uninformed to think that is how we all got started, for me it was just because it is who I am. I just get pissed off at the people who don't bother to understand what we are about and call it abuse because it's not how they live their lives. I also get pissed off at the people who take such offense that are in the lifestyle, people are afraid of what they don't understand and that which is outside the norm. This could be a good thing for us in many ways, but it can also be detrimental. There will always be the bible thumpers, the ones that don't bother to really understand what the lifestyle is about and call it abuse..but we can be above that attitude. No one aimed this book at YOU personally, it is what it is...A FICTIONAL LOVE STORY!!! JEEEzzzzzzzzzz

ps...Rant over..I plan on seeing the movie cause Christian Grey is freekin hot!!! *grin*

I hear people discussing it at work, but no-one has ever asked me whether I've read them books....
In fact, when they tell a joke that's a little naughty, they tell me I won't understand.

    *grins*
*pushes my halo back into place*

Human Rights is getting involved in boycotting the movies/books in Canada.

When I changed dentists some years ago, she did a rather complete check on my oral health. At the end, she announced that I suffered from "minor tongue thrust." She thinks my tongue is mis-positioned when I swallow; she offered to help fix me. I allowed that, having successfully swallowed for the preceding forty or fifty years, I would probably prefer just to muddle through on my own without her expert redirection.

I have the same reaction to books with titles like "50 Places You Absolutely Must Visit Before You Die," articles entitled "8 Things You Should Never Have in your Home After You Turn 30," or movies entitled "50 Shades of Makin' this S**t Up."

I have the books but I couldn't read them... I tried but I couldn't get past the bad grammar and spelling. I'm kind of interested in seeing the movie though I'll wait until there's online version later.
