sorry to hear about the loss of your cousin and sounds to be a great person and friend of yours.
It seems we are at an age where we now lose many but then age has nothing to do with loss of life and of course we have little control over who is taken from us.
The river I was talking about was by my Grandparents and I would spend my summers with them. My Grandfather would take me out boating and in the evening fishing, we would listen to the loons. The year my Grandfather passed, they blew the lower dam and drained the river to a mere trickle (long time ago and mere coincidence between his passing and loss of the Dam yet it represented many changes and loss of the loons too.) I love how songs reach in and touch a person, haunt them in the kindest way.

reminds me of the mood of sitting by the river at dusk, closing your eyes...turning into one self
