The Quiet Place
I have a hole
where my quiet place
should be
Everyone needs the locus
of calm and contentment
found inside
But mine is missing
I have never had one
that I recall
Always rushing to
and fro
in my mind
like traffic on
a resort road
Where is
What is
the quiet place
I wish to find one
I have tried
in sex
in love
in someone's lovely soul's duvet
But I always lose it
Because I don't have it
in me
I will go away from life and love
now
into the hole and
I will discover the
quiet place
Becasue
if I don't
This
cacophonous cavern
in my soul
will consume me.

Thank you all for your warm comments. This poem means a lot to me. I feel I am filling that void but sometimes it is still there.
PainSister: You are very welcome. ~hugs to you~

You write some really beautiful things, John - I've not commented on much recently, havn't taken time to read much - but this is lovely and the last one I read of yours (can't remember - a first arranged meeting - a first night together) - is absolutely stunning. Thank you.
