Briefly, he allowed his thoughts to wander. He wondered what his associates were up to, wondered where they were, what they were doing. Obviously, they were up to the same things as he was, for that was the nature of their work. But what did they see? If he could look through their eyes, what would his gaze fall upon? An attractive blond, seen changing for bed through her bedroom window? A petite redhead, idly typing responses to her little friends on AIM, as seen through the slats of her closet door?
He refocused on the present. Thursday nights always tended to be easier, for that was when they went to bed early. Friday and Saturday nights were bittersweet; they tended to frequent public places and become pleasantly inebrieted, hindering their ability to resist; however they also tended to be flanked by more people. Fucking safety in numbers.
Tonight was no different. The girl he'd watched for the past week had slipped into bed around one in the morning, and as her parents were out of town for a few days, one would think she would be a little smarter about locking the doors. Such was not the case. He let himself in and found her bedroom with relative ease, and now he stood over her sleeping form, half-buried in blankets, preparing himself. He couldn't be distracted by the burning desire that crept through his loins; lust and the subsequent lack of patience led to disaster in this job. So, he took it slowly. He listened to her breathing for a moment, savoring this calm before the storm, and bent over her bed, pressing a gloved hand over her mouth, his eyes instantly darting to hers so he could take in the glorious desperation that they would inevitably display as she was jarred from her peaceful slumber...
