As far as writing a scene is there a trick in writing about the action taking place or is it as easy as writing-
"[blank] lifted the whip over her shoulders. Then, with out a word, [blank] swung the whip; cutting the flesh on [blank's] back"

Hmm it all really depends on your writing style. I like to describe both the actions and the emotions in a scene. Others prefer to just describe the action.
What ever you do, make sure it makes sense and you are careful to remember what you have written before. For example, if someone has been blindfolded in one scene, remember to either remove the blindfold or that they are still blindfolded in the next scene!
