Curious from a distance

I'm new around here; been lurking for a couple days. I have the curse of a curious soul and having encountered a couple people involved in the D/s lifestyle found that it piqued my insatiable curiosity.

Not entirely sure what I'm doing here or even what to be curious about but I figure the best way to learn is to get involved enough to figure out what to ask.

Sort of hesitant to even post this but I guess in the end my thirst for knowledge overcame my will to stay inconspicuous. I would appreciate any direction or information anyone could lead me to but much prefer conversation over perusing forums or the like.
