He sat under the bright glare of the overhead light, it's bare bulb cast a blinding reflection on the scared and battered table top.
He was sweating, it ran in rivlets down his temples. It was hot in the room, but not hot enough cause that much sweating, he was scared and it showed.
They had grabbed him in the middle of the night, dragged him there and had never said a word. The two men now leaned over him as he sat cuffed to a ratty chair. Both would ask him question, first one then the other, not really giving him time to answer.
He was not even sure what he was being held for. They would not say, just kept asking him the same questions over and over.
He would try to explain, his eyes darting back and forth looking for pity but another question would cut him off.
The Questions came fast and hard with a tint of malice to them, if they been knifes the questions would have cut him to ribbons.

Pictures were pushed in front of him, blury photos in black and white. The photos were of a man, outside and walking but it could have been a picture of anyone, anywhere. They would point at the photos and say that was him, then pull the picture back before he could really look at it. He was lost and confused, his brain working over time trying to sort out the details of what the two men were saying. The bigger of the two men would lean in close and snarl a question about his wereabouts, his breath stinking of his last meal of god knows what with onions.

The other man would also lean in and in a voice he could hardly hear, would ask him off the wall questions about the weather,sports and other such nonsense. He smelled to him what was like perfume, a sweet smell and bad mix to onion mans breath.
He felt sick to his stomach, the heat, smells and bright lights were making him feel like the room was spining. he just wanted to go home, back to his bed.
He could'nt take any more. He just wanted out, willing to do anything they asked.
Finially he shouted "alright, alright", then got very quiet, feeling very small. The two men looked at him and smiled, "all right what? " is all they asked." I did it!" he screamed, trully feeling the guilt that he now claimed. he broke down and wept, all the guilt he carried for all the misdeeds he had ever done came flooding out.
The larger man smiled and slid a slip of paper over to him, "sign this and you may go" was all he said.
His eyes widened, his brain raced. This had to be a trick, sign and go? He 'd would had signed anything at that moment, wanting only to get away from the hell he was now in. He scribbled his name and looked up at the men, "I can go?"he said with hope at last in sight."Yes, you may go and don't forget to pay on your way out." the smaller man said.
He looked at the slip in his hand and back to the men standing there," What were the charges?" he asked in a small voice, not really wanting to know.
"Littering". was all the men said and walked out of the room.

hahahahahahaha littering...very good. This was intense and well funny as you read the last line. I'll put you on the list for a new assignment.
