Was It A Dream?

I succumb to the sleep
Laying on my side
Fingers curled in the linen
Strangling the soft
Cocoon in which I lay
Head lowered and pressed
Against a softened pillow

I dream of you
Forming your silhouette
In my mind
Pretending you are laying there
With me, behind me
Your protective arm
Against my chest
Pulling me in close

I feel you caressing my hair
Twirling it, stroking every fiber
With a loving and knowing hand
Your breath on my neck
Sending shivers deep within

My body parts for you
At the slightest touch
Wanting you within me
As I feel dancing fingers
Play my body at a fevered rhythm
Causing me to pitch and writhe
Falling deep into your embrace

I turn kissing your hot mouth
Running my fingers through your hair
Caressing your body as you like it
In the way that I know you adore
Tell me once more that you love me
For I will always be your angel
If you only let me be as such

I awaken tangled in the sheets
My heart beating rapidly
Body numb and tingling
I turn to your side and realise
It was only an apparition of the mind
Until we meet dreams are all we have
Until we meet…

*I wrote this a while ago...but I still think about this poem from time to time, so I thought I'd share. xx

*sighs* I know that line gets me every time... What makes it worse is that I wrote it, in that poem and it still has that effect on me.

The more time I spend here, the more I feel comfortable in posting. I guess that is a good thing. *smiles*

I loved every word of it and I can relate to it also, believe me. Very nice and I hope to find more of your words within these walls.

That was incredible, had to wipe away a tear or two.

i can totally relate to that poem, i always wake up to find it was a dream *sigh*.

reads my angels poem and looks deep into her eyes one day we will be together and you wont need to dream you will have me lying beside you and over my lap when ever I feel you deserve it or need it (hope you like her red bottom picture beside me)
