I'm somewhat surprised to see people shocked that there are kinky folks in Alberta. I've been part of the Alberta community for over 15 years and have to say I personaly have met hundreds of kinky people in Alberta. I am in Edmonton and will happily discuss the community here. Also I can direct you to social gatherings and play parties which happen all the time.
