Oh Warbaby, I couldn't agree more...the little things are what makes any relationship a strong bond in my mind, it's not limited to D/s. And I'm sure you must have tons of the little magic to keep your marriage alive and thriving for 40 years. It's a time span that is almost unbelievable to grasp for me. Congrats!! :)

Yes, Mina and Silke, I did get in trouble for this. I openly told Master Evan that I had posted without permission. He was disappointed in me, which made me cry. I had hoped he would be pleased enough with what I said to let it slide. He did not, but was quick to forgive and forget. :)Quote:

the look in my partner's eyes which tells me she doesn't want to be anywhere else than with me;
Knowing that I can and do trust her wholeheartedly in every respect.
Oh and more practically over recent weeks, talking about what we'll do to make the wedding night extra, extra special (ten days to go! :woohoo:)
Little things I do to make my partner happy?
* Give him a back massage when he's tense
* Make him brekky on a Saturday morning
* Put my arm around him while we're sleeping, my hand on his chest/stomach
* Tell him in intense and arousing detail exactly what I want to do to him on the weekend when I see him again
* Get him a beer while he's watching the news
* Take back the rental movies for him, so he doesn't get a fine
* Clean and tidy the house while he's at work so he doesn't have to deal with the mess
* Cook dinner for him (or order, if I'm being a lazy girlfriend)
I like calling them when it's least expected.
Sending flowers to their work or home.
Surprising them with a little gift of some piece of jewelry
with uncommon gem stones in necklaces, earrings or
bracelets.
I guess a modernized version of "want some candy little girl?"

Washing their hair and bathing them as well.
Preparing a special meal now and again to say

Just thought about something today that made me want to bump this thread back to the top.
I was chatting with Master and realized how blessed I am with such an attentive soul who cares about me. It suddenly hit me - this is a rare species, lol.
One of my best r/l friends is stuck in a relationship with someone she actually loves to bits, but who isn't really attentive towards her. In his mind, only the big things count. He told me once that he loves to see her happy but hardly ever has the time or money to really show her. For him, it's all about making big presents, dedicating whole days or even a holiday to her, buying a huge bunch of flowers.....when all she wants is maybe a little note saying he loves her pinned to the fridge when she gets up and he's already gone; for him to be really *with* her when they are together, in contrast to him juggling his computer, the tv and a phone call while trying to listen when she tells him how her day went; or maybe pick up a flower from the neighbour's garden instead of a huge buquet.
I actually told him what she said to me - and he wiped it off with a rough gesture and told me those little things weren't worth the effort. As much as I like him, but i think he couldn't be further from the truth. The little things make ALL the difference...
...when I asked him whether he knew how to make an avatar of my picture and he surprised me with not only doing it for me, but adding his name for me.
...when he shares his feelings with my so openly.
...when I was all giggly and hot to do a task today and he created one on the fly.
...when I read the task and realized he knows me so damn well.
...when he said he's proud to announce I call him Master.
The little things I try to do for him -
...getting over my awkward feelings and entertaining him with a story to help him unwind.
...taming my curiosity and respecting his privacy.
...considering his needs and wishes and putting them before my own.
...keeping my in-built smartass in check...sometimes, lol. (although that would probably run under 'saving my own ass'...;)
...creating an atmosphere where he can relax instead of playing the drama queen, lol

Well, since I'm now living with my Master, my answer to this thread has changed a little bit.
Things I do to please...
- Try and make sure his water glass is always full when we eat
- Take the initiative in rubbing his feet when he gets home from work (not quite as good as I should be at this one)
- Making sure he always has clean clothes to wear (not really a little thing)
- Making sure the house is fairly tidy when he gets home
- Trying to make sure I light his cigarette before mine
Things he does that please me...
- When he lights my cigarette for me
- Handing me the ashtray when it's out of my reach
- Letting me cuddle with him on the couch when we watch tv
- Letting me sleep in when I wasn't feeling good the night before or we got to sleep really, REALLY late
Um...I'm sure there are a ton more things, but I'm still not fully awake yet. *grins*
