Still getting the same message when trying to log on to chat.
Thanks for posting this lover x it was weird, my sweet PainSister was able to get in a little after 9pm London, where i kept getting the message about the maintenance update ... i have only just been able to log in now at close to midnight... is there any reason for this? i tried multiple browser and attempted to clear my system but no success until now... oh well it's good to be back any wayQuote:

Yes, I've been having real problems - over hours - for the last 3 days; when someone else has been able to get in. I've not seen any messages about updates. I've had all sorts of wierd messages from IE, that I've never seen before, about it not being able to contact the site, the server, ftp, stuff.
It seems alright at the moment... fingers crossed.
you know...it only hit me yesterday that this thread referred to Rabbit and Tiger the administrators...i thought it was just a weird title for a thread lol...yes i can be dense...and i had troubles off and on yesterday but none today...
I agree it does sound like a strange pair of slapstick comedians... :D

Chat has been going thru and update process ----now I do not know about all the Tech stuff ---but I do know sometime when I update software on my own computer it causes other problems that I have to track down and fix---I am thinking that the same issues occur when the site --either chat or the forums are upadated -----no I do not have these problems at other places I go ---but then again ---they do not try to update to the latest software and faster servers ---they do not have nearly the traffic that this site has ---you have to remember it also handles millions of people reading stories on the main story page ---no thousands as in those other sites ---and that is the reason for the updates and moves to bigger servers ----Tiger cares and is trying to keep things stable ----and spending alot of time and money on this site
all I can say is this is one of the few sites where the owner cares ---and the admin and mods care about the members ----
so I say thank you Tiger and thanks to all the mods and super mods and the other admin of this great site ----and thanks to the members who put forth the effort to contact me when there are problems so we can try to track them down
We really do appreciate y'all and we know you're doing a fabulous job. We just bitch about it because we're frustrated and such and we want to let y'all know what's wrong and how we feel. But it's not aimed toward you and Tiger, it's toward the servers that kick us off or choose to run slow.Quote:
