I have a myspace and have had no real problems, but I keep it limited adnn mostly for networking with people I have worked with in theatre as we are often spread out or friends that live in far off pllaves like china and japan now.
I haven't been in here for so long. I ended up setting up two pages. I had an original page before I got into the life. So when I decided I wanted to add friends from here and others with similiar interests I made another page. I have it set totally private and it is impossible to view anything. My blogs are preferred friends which is set up as a journal for me to refer back to on my experiences and training. I don't have a picture of myself as my profile picture so my children, family members and friends who would not understand can't find me. Yeah seems like a lot of work but it is worth it to me. I have a few members from here on my page.

If I didn't do things because my family might become ashamed of me. I would be stuck in a suit and tie in a church listening to some person who is no better than I try and tell me I need to work on being a better person.
So I live my life as I want, doing as I want, and not including my family in it. Am I ashamed of myself, NO. Then why don't I include my family? Because they are narrow minded and judgmental, and I don't particularly want that coming up every time I go see them.

Satan..its not about being 'ashamed' as much as it is being cut out of the will! i can't afford that! *wink*...i just don't feel as though my family needs to know about my darker side. its not their business..it doesn't affect them in any way...so i keep my blog fairly vanilla to avoid the discomfort of having to explain ANYTHING at all to them...typical WASP family....wouldn't/couldn't/ain't gonna try to understand the real 'me' ever.
Hahaha omg. We found Satan's brother and cousin on myspace… I don't know what it is about the males in his family, but from what I've seen so far they all like to be naked LOL. His cousin made a joint account with his wife, and while his wife was fully clothed in every picture, the cousin had several pictures of just him naked except for a sheet barely covering him! And his brother… has pictures of himself standing almost naked in the snow, lmao wtf.
So yeah that's why he made that comment about your family being ashamed of you... don't take it seriously lol.
Got a message from karin today saying my profile was gone. I thought yeah right. But it is gone. Some ass bandit mother f**kin slime ball deleted my account. And it only took me about 1000 man hours with my techo knowledge to get it up in the first place.
The only thing I can think of was i clicked on a bulletin that didn't load. I suspect they somehow got my password and the rest is history. So the moral of the story is be careful what you click on. Either that or it was a glitch in the matrix somewhere. Am I pissed off. You betcha.
It'll probably take me forever to get another one up if I can be bothered. But it is a good place to meet new friends and so many from here. *pulls out tool kit and sighs*
Hey G. If your password was compromised, make sure you think about what password you were using.
I know I am guilty of using the same password for everything. So if they got into my password there. My entire online world would be screwed.
As to any phishing (pronounced "Fishing") attempts by hackers on myspace. If the page seemed to refresh logging you out once you clicked on something. Check the address in the address bar. If it read anything other than myspace.com/ then the page is bogus, and is a phishing attempt.

I loathe Myspace with a passion.
Hence why I'm so amused that thousands of passwords and emails are currently being passed around online thanks to a phishing trick. A few of the list are being passed around on certain sites even now and I'm talking about every day kind of sites at that with messageboards.
So if you see anyones page get deleted or someone make a post that they didn't make chances are they are but one of the many people that got caught in the phishing trick.
I agree phishing can be a real problem. The problem stems from lack of attention to what they are looking at, or lack of understanding the appearance of code. In either case it's as simple as fooling someone into thinking they need to provide the given information. The latest browsers both IE and FireFox provide anti-phishing filters to combat this problem. It's not limited to myspace either. Peoples banking/email/insurance/credit cards.... all have been affected by this.
With a little education and attention to what your looking at, the entire phishing thing can be avoided.

Wasn't quite happy with MySpace, or LiveSpaces as I signed up for. However, I have signed up for a spot on MyDungeonSpaces and will try to make it an interesting site after a while. Just needs to learn how to do that. At the moment, all there is to it, is that I've signed up.

Looks to me like a rip off/clone of Myspace so it likely sets up the same way.
For the most part I am not a Myspace fan either, they seem to be an excuse to wall paper the back ground with the most distracting images possible and then try to put readable text on top...that being said the dungeon ones I have seen so far are a vast improvement on they majority of eye danger on Myspace.Quote:
