    Something i wanted to share

I don't know if this is the right place to share this .. but here goes...

We were at a funeral yesterday.. For a young 21 yr old whom died of cancer.. His mother and sister our family was very close to. He was one whom during life was always making people happy and was full of laughter... Even during the funeral.. we heard laughter as stories were shared...

Anyways this poem was read and well it got to me as i find we all move just a little to fast.. Please take a moment and read it..

    Slow Dance
    author Unknown

    Have you ever watched kids,
on a a Merry go round?
    Or listened to the rain
    slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

    You better slow down.
    Don't dance so fast.
    Time is short.
    The music won't last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask "how are you"
    Do you hear the reply?
    When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
    With the next hundred chores
    Running through your head?

    You better slow down.
    Don't dance so fast.
    Time is short.
    The music won't last.

    Ever told your child
    We'll do it tomorrow.
    And in your haste
    Not see his sorrow?
    Ever lost touch
    Let a friendship die
    Cause you never had time
    To call and say hi?

    You better slow down.
    Don't dance so fast.
    Time is short.
    The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like as unopened gift...
    Thrown away

    Life is not a race
    Do take it slower,
    Hear the music
    Before the song is over.

I hope you slow down in life and enjoy what is there.. to many times we let the fun go ..and let the responsibilities and worries take over... i know i am bad for that...

    Just my opinion
    Hugs
    snow

It's a beautiful poem and was allegedly written by Amy Bruce, a seven-year-old terminally ill cancer patient. Since it was passed around, however, investigators claim that it was a charity hoax and in reality the poem was written by an adult male psychologist by the name of David Wetherford.

These findings, however, do not make the poem any less touching, in my opinion.

    Thank you for sharing, snowflake

    What a great sentiment.

We should all take notice of such words. It will all be gone in the blink of an eye.

    Thanks Snow xxx

It's an eye opening poem --whoever wrote it. Thank you for sharing (I know the next time one of my girls asks me to play - I'll think of this and take the extra moment).

Thank you for sharing, that is a beautiful poem. It is also a lesson in life, to not let all the worries of life stop us from taking time to appreciate life.

We all need reminding of this from time to time.

We all need to take a few moments and remember what truley is important... And relize how fast life moves and that you will miss something if you don't take the time to look around at what there is to see...

Thanks my love for bringing this out for all to see... Just maybe it will help some to slow down a tad and enjoy life in all it's splendor and glory...

Mandy it was that line that truly hit me hard..

Seems i find time to instruct them... to lecture .. but when i get asked to spend some time since dad past especially i am to busy online {hiding form r/l} or dealing with stress of r/l to enjoy time with them...

And very bad for waiting for others that don't have time to spend but hold you so you can't do much more..

i have now taken to spending that extra moment for an extra long hug instead of a hugs and run with all in my house .. seems as if i was giving them all out on the net but near forgot that ones at home need extra long ones...

And now the weekends i stay off the net to work at a somewhat not great job{that Master and my one daughter work at}.. but also spend time with Master and my kids when i am not working...

i hope this starts a pattern in my life they are baby steps .. but ones i hope will make it so i remember to enjoy things and not just worry how i will pay the bills and get things done..

    just my opinion

    hugs

Savor every moment. Well said indeed.

One of my friends has as her signature on another forum:

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you do the work.

Moments of fabulous are fleeting and it's all too easy to not spend the time to appreciate them.

My partner died 2 years ago this week. I spent months wishing for some of those moments to have lasted a little longer before he was taken away so quickly.

Hugs you tight ... i know what you mean hun...

My dad pasted last oct 29th... to this day i am filled with regret as he was a bus driver and was always away .. then after i broke with my husband i moved away and well had little ways to get to see dad.. i miss him and only wish i had found away to spend more time with him...

Almost like the song "cats in the cradle" you just lose track of time and break away as lifes messes take over ..then the moments you want to share .. are no longer there.. Then all you can do is hope and pray he knows how much you love {d} him...

    hugs

Since reading your poem I find myself at mom's bedside a lot more often if only just to give her a kiss and tell her I love her. It is also so very uplifting to see the love and concern you and tester share for one another.
