I'm a non-believer but each unto their own. Some like to have fun with it as well, but might not put too much stock into it. Others obviously have a serious interest in it. I don't put any stock in it, but I don't see a reason to be "saddened". As with all of humanity, different belief systems exist and are perfectly "rational" to believers. I also don't see anything wrong with taking an interest in it or simply being curious.

The beauty of faith is also its fallacy: that it makes sensible the unfathomable and rationalizes the irrational. Making sense of the world around us is perhaps the most fundamental of the modern human condition and one way that people have tried to make sense of the mysterious and those things that seem out of their own control is to ascribe meaning by faith in any number of belief systems. While I chose a different way of seeing the world it would be equally fallacious of me to deny others that fundamental condition.
