I made the bed and toy rack at the same time, so the schematics for them are kind of mixed. Key points: The bed is made in two ends for portability (size and wieght); each is 37" long (designed for a twin size mattress). It's 20" tall, with a 4" lip around the mattress (no box spring). It's based on an interior frame of 2"x4"s (which I assembled with a dizzyingly unessecary number of dados) held by 2.5" screws. I used a nicer sort of plywood for the exterior, which works fine for a rugged dungeon look but I would use real wood planks were I to do it again. Also, it's alot easier to assemble the exterier, and then put together the framed inside -- avoids gaps that made me re-build and adjust a few times.
