Jade ran through the halls deep within her mind searching for Yuri. Yuri needed her and she must find him. He called to her very soul. Jade found herself standing before a door covered with ancient chains and locks. Jade knew she had placed the locks on the door but could not remember what horror lay behind it. Jade knew Yuri was behind the door. His scent filled her mind and body. Jade stilled the fear within herself. Nothing was going to keep her from Yuri. She ripped the chains from the door and entered.

The fear in her mind sent Jade reeling. The stench of demon filled her nostrils and her hands throbbed with pain. Jade fought the confusion in her mind. She had been here before. These were not just Yuri’s memories but hers as well. Jade struggle to control the body she was now in. Jade caught Yuri’s scent. He was near but he smelled different. She reached to touch his mind.

Yuri was going to rescue her. Jade used Yuri’s focus and determination to take control of the body that once belonged to her. The girl had a strong spirit. Jade was fighting to take control of Smirenka’s mind when Yuri struck the demon. Jade bones groaned from the impact as she hit the ground. She barely had time to raise her head to see Yuri’s body impact with the wall. The sound of his breaking bones and pain washed over her. Yuri’s dieing thoughts filled her mind. That he would think of himself as a failure tore at her heart. Jade could not lose him. She refused to let him go.

”Noooooooooooo”, Jade screamed as her heart and soul shattered.

Part of her traveled into Yuri’s body following him into the darkness.

The other part of Jade wanted blood for those who had tried to take her mate from her. Smirenka was no more. She was buried deep inside of Jade. Rage filled Jade and her first victim was the demon who had attacked her. Jade was already on her feet. Her hands found Yuri’s sword and she ripped it from the demon’s body.

“See you in hell”, Jade hissed as she drove the sword in between the scales in his throat severing his head.

Jade’s spirit found Yuri’s soul. She wrapped herself around it forcing his soul stay within his body.

“You can not die beloved. You must live to find me again”, Jade whispered to Yuri’s soul.

Jade let her life force fill Yuri and prayed that she was strong enough to keep him alive until help came.

Yuri dreamed of being held in the warmed embrace of a woman. The gentle scent of flowers was all around him and her voice was filled with love. Yuri wanted to touch the voice and see the woman that held him but his eyes and arms would not obey him.

“Grow strong and endure. I will wait for you Yuri but you must survive at all cost. I do not want to live if you it has to be without you”, said Jade as their souls caressed each other.
