Peristalsis does a whole lot of things not limited to the bowel. But if the muscles are contracting to make things move, surely when they "relax" or uncontract they'd create pressure going the other way. We had a member here have an incident with losing something up their butt, and apparantly it was just like something had sucked it up. *shrugs* My two cents anyway
