I'm surprised this thread hasn't taken off, I can think of several interesting examples. As I noted elsewhere on the Forum, when reading "Atlas Shrugged" I was startled to find that the heroine is a perfect portrait of a strong competent submissive. All her lovers treat her as a respected equal till their relationship becomes sexual, then they order her around and treat her like a slut and she loves it. She wears a chain bracelet for her first lover, and just in case the meaning isn't clear, his wife has refused to wear it saying it's a symbol of subjection. When she meets the love of her life, the first thing she does is arrange to become his housemaid. And the author makes it very clear that she does all this while remaining a strong-willed leader.

I'm afraid I haven't read Anita Blake. I'll think of some more examples later.
