*Gives you a book on basic astronomy* Um, the sun never rises in midwinter at the poles (24-hour nights) so a solar eclipse cannot happen (obviously). As an off-topic point, I don't think the line of visibility of a total lunar eclipse (i.e. the shadow of the earth obscuring the moon) is ever visible from either pole.
Anyway that's your fault - you know I can get boring!!!!
