Suspension by wrists

I have tested that suspension (without footrest) by wrists with joined arms make less pain to arms but more trouble to breathe. Instead suspension by wrists with open arms make more pain to arms but less trouble to breathe.

For the suspensions without footrest I have tested that four cuffs instead of two are better. Two cuffs at wrists and two over the elbow. The weight is distributed. The rope that link must slide in the hook that bear so automatically find the right point and the weight is distributed.

Just in a physics standpoint, I think using handcuffs wouldn't be the best method for suspension by wrists as they are extremely thin, and would force body weight onto small parts of your wrist bone. My suggestion is probably to use a lot of rope wrapped around the wrist several times to increase the surface area of the point of contact.

Plus, I think there some wrist attachment that are soft that can be tied to ropes which make suspensions a lot less painful.

For wrist suspension the best thing to do is use a lined leather cuff to spread the weight. Even so there is a lot of danger. this was used as an exection method because you will eventually have cramps and be unable to breathe. Also, you can injusr the wrists and thumbs from the involuntary struggle against the pain. Even with feet on a stool or the floor this will result in injury or death after a period of time.

The Nazis actually did some "scientific experiments" in this vein, I think it was in Dachau. They'd keep captives suspended on a T-beam cross with arms stretched out and without a foot support (or any headplank: that's somehow like what the crosses of ancient Roman crucifixions oftne looked like). After a few hours the "research persons" started having cramps and troubled breathing, however, if they were given a foot support, the trouble petered out and they seemed stable once again.
The results of those experiments seemed to be, then, that a crucified /suspended person with arms stretched out and no food or drink, could well stay alive for days (this is attested from antiquity) if he had a foot support, but if he/she had none, then they'd probably be badly affected in less than 12 hours.

I love suspension but I am very careful with it. for the wrists there are leather cuffs made that wrap around the wrist and then the leather goes up to a ring normally with a small bar for the hand to grasp.

I agree never do suspension with handcuffs, rope is dangerous if you don't know how to tie it so that it doesn't tighten with her weight.

I've never been suspended, though it is a fantasy. However, I'm prone to feinting and even simply being bound with my arms raised above my head can cause me to suddenly become very dizzy (read: nauseous) and collapse. Anybody who has experienced this will tell you it's the most awful feeling in the world and is compounded by the bondage. So I guess this is a word of warning to dominants and even submissives. Always be aware of circulation issues and, if you're tying with ropes, be sure to learn how to tie quick release knots. Either that, or have a sharp knife on hand for emergencies.

I've got trick shoulders -- they'd dislocate instantly and painfully if I tried any of these positions. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone else.
