When you say your girlfriend likes rough sex, do you mean she likes you to be forceful and aggressive in sex, or do you mean she likes to experience pain ( a little or a lot?) such as by slapping or pinching or whipping or caning?

She likes me to be forceful and aggressive. She wants me to tell her what to do... also likes it when I grab her by the throat and enjoys having her hands/arms pinned down. She really isnt in to anything painful...

Things like that is touch and feel. Trial and error but be careful and if she says stop then you better stop!
Hard to give you any pointers but all relationships needs an open discussion so sit down with her and talk through it. What she wants of you and what she dont want.
