Self Imposed Bondage
Hello,
I am a male submissive and I wanted to get the community's recommendations for self bondage. I am willing try almost anything on myself. Currently I practice self beatings with plastic clothes hangers, cbt with thin rope, and use clothes pins on myself. Any further recommendations on how to punish myself would be great.

I'd better repost this one - and it's built on my own solid experience. This is a basic outline of how to gt into a tight yummy hogtie, a technique to learn. I aimed to be clear and practical about how and in what order. Enjoy!
HOW TO RESTRAIN YOURSELF
-guide to making a good self-hogtie
Okay, so you want to be bound and gagged and need to do it yourself. No problem, but it takes some training and some good sense. The following gives some advice on how to get along. Don’t try all of this at once, you’ll need to get there bit by bit and to learn the technique fairly by heart (it’s no option to be reading from this paper all the time while doing the tying-up). Also needed, to get to know your own body and your physical limits. To really get it all good, you will have to be able to tie your hands tight without seeing them, and to keep track of different strands of rope. Security is essential too, so take care and don’t rush it.
What you need:
Rope, several meters and preferably a bundle of hemp, cotton or nylon rope. Keep the lengths you’ve been using in a safe place, so you won’t have to cut new all the time.
Two or three leather belts with buckles and small punched holes (very useful)
A strong pair of scissors
A small knife, blade 3-4 in (8-10 cm)
Any kind of gag you want to use (tape roll? ball gag? socks? panties?)
Important
Never tie anything around your neck, not even with slack!! This is an absolute rule: if you’re alone or will be left alone, don’t put anything around your neck that’s remotely possible to constrict and suffocate you (a collar is okay if it’s not connected with any other ropework, and not so tight it actually could go pressing at your neck) And never use any hood or overhead bag that doesn’t have secure holes for breathing!
If you tie anyone else up, don’t leave that person all alone in any place where they might roll over and get really hurt or asphyxiated, certainly not in a bed, with face down, or when gagged, not even for a minute. The one you tie up is your responsibility; if he/she is bound and gagged you must keep watch over your friend.
Don’t do anything of this when on speed
The instructions are for a right-handed person: if you’re left-handed, invert all directions on “right” and “left”
Instructions for hogtie
Get up on the bed and make sure it’s laid like you’ll want it once you’re tied, you won’t be able to change much after you’re finished (blankets etc). Make sure all the stuff you’ll use is within reach as you do the tying (and of course you need to have any costume stuff, make-up etc finished before you start). Then first, tie your ankles tight (it’s easiest with a leather belt).
Elbow tie: this is optional, but it matters a lot for the tightness and feel of the hogtie to have your elbows secured too. Rope length about 1-1.5 m. Put left arm behind your back and tie it two coils just above your left elbow, pull tight. Then keep your right arm behind your back and move it closer to the left arm. Don’t push it, no need to make them meet and your muscle reflexes and shoulder joints will fight it as you try (You can’t get your elbows tighter than 3-4 inches on your own, in the end, even if you’re skilled; I’ve tried)
Lay back and use your left hand to tie a half-loose coil midway up your right forearm, closed with a running slide knot. so there’s some room for varying the size of the loop (it might be a double loop but has to be about the same width) Half-loose, not tight: it has to have some slack because the loop will be pushed upwards and your arm will want to pull to the right, which may stretch the rope. The length of rope between the two loops should be around 12-15 cm (5-6 in) but you’ll have to test what works for you.
Now the loop is around your forearm, push it upwards gently with your left hand and rubbing it against the bedding. You’ll be able to see roughly where it is looking, like, over your right shoulder and moving your arms in tandem to th right. If it grows so tight it won’t get past the thickest part of your arm, pull down, ease out the loops and try again, or drop it.. When it passes your elbow, you’ll be able to shift your arms to the left and the rope will tighten a bit between the elbows. Your hands are still free to reach to the front but the elbows are pinned down.
Next, tie the knees with tight loops of rope and tie it off under/behind the knees with a tight knot. If you want an extra rope or belt around your mid-calves, or a crotchrope, this is the point to add them. With breast bondage, your best bet is to have it finished before starting out with the hogtie at all.
Next, the gag. Your hands are still free, so no problem; use any gag you like. After this, make sure you have all the lengths of rope you’ll need and put the knife and the scissors at the bedside table to use as a last resort if you’re in trouble getting free afterwards.
Next bit is to prepare the bond between the ankles and the wrists. It’s easiest to do with a leather belt.(like, for trousers etc). Pull the belt one loop around your feet, wring it so the loop is steady and then pull both ends of the belt up towards your butt (the length with the punched holes or the like should be:longer, at least 50% longer than the buckle end) and make sure they’re “on the right side” like, if you were putting them on over a pair of jeans, they should buckle steadily from either side, the grip has to clinch when one end passes over the wrists rope and then changes tack). Put both ends so you’ll be able to reach them with your hands loosely tied behind you, because that’s where you’ll be in minutes.
Rope around hands. Put a rope, ca 4-5 feet, around your left hand and pull tight, avoid cutting sharp over the pulse vein with the rope. Coil it 2-3 times then make a second loop, big enough to get past your handbones (this is a trial and error bit) at, like, 4-5 inches distance between wrists after you’ve tied the loop off. If you want to, make it a double loop.
Now move your hands behind your back, grab the loop/s and put your right hand and wrist through. It should be so tight it just goes over the “ridge” of your handbones and down onto the wrist which is slimmer. Make sure the rope is snug and tight around both wrists (a slipknot of some kind is good for tying this off, it makes the rope run tight when you pull and it’s also fairly easy to unwind later). Now, move your feet up behind you so you’ll get your calves close to where you’ll want them when hogtied. Then grab the ends of the belt below you and pull in the long end (with the punched holes) under the side of the rope running between your wrists, then pull it up so it will meet the buckle somewhere under your nice butt. Move your legs as close as you want and pull the belt tight and buckle off. Make sure the buckle is close enough to somehow reach when you’re freeing yourself afterwards, you need to be able to get it and unbuckle it with your tied hands. And make sure the belt does not come in the way of any other rope than the one running between your wrists.
Next, cross your wrists (already bound behind you) x-wise; if you have enough rope between the wrists, push the belt to the left and wring your right wrist so you’ll get it enclosed in by that rope in an (open) loop which will pin your wrists really tight. With the extra rope running off free to the right of the right wrist, pull a few coils tight around both hands; with experience you’ll learn how to tie off a final knot here without the help of eyesight; before that stage, then just hold the rope tight with one hand after you’ve coiled it a few times, edge it under some of the tight coils already in place and pull taut - and then pull out the rope beyond if you want more loops
Doing without a final knot here lessens the risk of getting stuck in position as well. At any point when tying your wrists, take care to keep the free rope strands tight and pull out the slack, or your wrists will slide apart and it won’t get tight.. Wriggle into place and enjoy your helpless, growling state.
Slip knots and slide knots
are very useful for self-bondage if you want to get ropes and loops tight without having to tie them off to something far-off (a radiator. for instance). I guess most people have a general idea, buta slipknot is a knot where one end is tightly wound two or more times around the other after the loop (which could hold your wrists etc), and the knot will open if you pull the winding end. A slide knot looks rather similar, it closes a single or double loop of rope, and loop and knot will constrict when you pull from the loop end of the rope, but it won't open of itself later. Most often the loop/s can be widened a bit, though, enough to get some slack and begin to free yourself.
Getting out
Anyone who’s been restricted for some time in the end will want to get free. A few basic tips:
Keep track of where the knots are, especially at the wrists and elbows. Don’t put an essential knot (one that can’t be pushed,and that you need to get undone) where you’re sure not to reach it again, like, on the upper side of your wrist and buried under a lot of other rope. Use slip and slide knots and other stuff that’s easy to pull open or to make the loop a little bit wider.
Avoid thin, cutting cords (plastic cord etc): it can be very hard to unravel after the bondage session and it’s also liable to get mixed up with sweat and then it tightens even more.
Don’t panic if you feel it’s too tight. Stay calm and test where you can get some ease – you almost always can. If you absolutely can’t get free, use the knife or the scissors, and make damn sure you don’t point the knife close to a vein. After you’re free, if you want to use the rope lengths again try to make sure they don’t have any remaining knots.
