I don't post here often but I have a question for you all.
If you were the opposite sex, would you be the same in terms of D/s or would you want to be in a different role?
I'm just wondering whether this happens a lot or not. I'm a male dom, but I think if I were female, I would want to be a sub. I don't know why this is, I just found it kind of funny that I think this way.

If my gender were switched, I'd probably want a hot domina to have as a wife and I'd get to be her loving pet (subbie but not full time d/s) just like I am now to my T.
So, same role, different body.
And for the switch side of me, I would hope she would let me take charge every now and then. ;)
It probably wont' change... but I like both side anyway (not at the same time).
My switch orientation is usually based on mood, so that's unlikely to change any way.
At least the makeup if any would be less caricatural and could be more provocative.

I have switched genders (for the most part) :rainbow: and to be honest I have Topped and bottomed as both a Man and as a Woman. I much preferred to Top as a Woman because I wasn't happy with who * I Was* and in so being I couldn't let go of total control, but now that I am more secure in who I am and what I like, I am very happy being my Mistress's boi. ;)

now as for spilling the beans, I also have changed gender from female to male, and from my point of view, I grew up submissive. With a very "quick handed" mother, who used belt's wooded spoon's, canes to dish out punishment. In my earlier sexual life as a young adult, violent/cruel parterns became my scene, looking back in hinded sight, this was partly due to the tormented feelings that I had about myself, I didn't know at the time that there was help.
ten years ago, I evenutually got the help I needed and my life has change for the better, I'm still a sub, with a happy contented heart, and now I enjoy every bit of life with my lovely Mistress Rhiannon who is also my Wife. one day she'll get round to putting in a post, she's such a busy person she sya's hiya to you all :D .

Absolutely horrible idea. If our genders were switched we would have a gender change performed on us.
I mulled this over in my head as I read through the replies, and my own response has changed several times. While it's difficult to tell without actually being in that position, I believe I would have a very slight inclination towards being dominant, with a primary attraction towards women. (I'm submissive and owned- My Dom is a man, though I previously considered myself a bit bisexual. I say "previously" because I don't know if I can be committed to a hetero relationship and still call myself bisexual. I say "a bit" because I've always been more inclined towards relationships with men.)
I'd still be submissive I think, just because that's how I feel comfortable. Plus subbie boys are hot ;)

Difficult ... but it would be probaby be the same. Different gender - same roles (mosty Top). But to be sweet female sub ... mmm ... there is something in that :p . (just to stay in clear - forced feminization turns me off completely, so I cannot imagine any real situation that would bring this about. But, hey one can alway dream ...mmm) :D

being a female sub I have occasionally been given the reigns as a dom over other subjects my master brings in.
I can say without hesitation, as a male I would certainly be a dom. I know I can do it & I honestly couldnt imagine being someone who should in theory be in power & take orders.

I do sometimes/often think about how it would be being female and I think that I would probably enjoy it a bit. I am completely heterosexual and therefore am thinking that if my gender was switched I would still be attracted to women. AS I am now, I have dominant tendencies but I think that it by default. Men really don't have the stuff that I like to play with (breasts / cunt) and therefore I think that it would not be as much fun as a sub and tend to think of doming female subs instead.
If I were to have a female body there is little doubt in my mind that I would be a willing yet feisty sub. But that is only fantasy for me so I guess I will have to make do

On a more philosophical note:
Sometimes I think there is more testosterone in my body than I can handle. I am direct in most things. Guile is not my game.

i've always felt like my brain is working like the opposite gender, while i'm stuck in my body. So, if I had a gender change, if my brain stayed the same, I think I'd be perfectly happy. I'd still be switch, as I theoretically am now, but I think I'd feel more comfortable in my body if I had a gender change. :dunno:
If I were female, I wouldn't be a switch but just a sub. Since I'm mostly sub, I guess a gender change doesn't change much what I am in other ways :)

if my gender were switched humm thats a tough one for me, cause i really dont know how many of my submissive personality traites are comeing are there because of a combination of gender typeing and school age tortore ( the normal stuff not the horrable bad kind) if I had been growing up a boy I wouldent have been teased and taunted for my weight nearly as much I probibly would have played foot ball because ofit ( as the foot ball coach already asked me to severl times) so instead of reacting negatively and turning into a wallflower, doing what ppl told me to avoid the taunts and figureing out early that pleaseing ppl got them on your side and made them want to protect u, I would have grown up being taught all those lovely gender typeing roles and would probibly be a Dom now instead of a sub. but if I were just switched now due to some random freakiness ( alt dimention/ or gender switching lasor beam weilding aliens lol) I would defently still be submissive.

Hehe love the question! And no problem in coming up with the answer on my part. As a female submissive, if my gender were switched to male, I would definately take on the dominant role! I'm learning that BDSM is so very stimulating to me not only because as a submissive I love the feeling of helplessness and the play of fear vs. trust and being used as a tool for pleasure for Master, but also because I love seeing the thrill that Master takes in His handling of me! His arousal and the creative ways He stimulates it, is what turns me on the most! Very roundabout, I suppose. I'm an altruistic and idealist kind of guy and I am aware that there is an excess of subs in the world so, if I became a woman, I'd almost certainly pick up a whip and dress in leather. It's the least I can do. :)

Its not often someone else brings up the subject in an open manner like this so its quite refreshing when it happens.
For me, gender has no bearing on my role. Both before and after I decided to make my change I was a submissive. I tried being a switch/top, and while I'm technically competent at it, its not something I enjoy or get any fulfillment from.
Although, thats not to say it might not change(even moreso) in the future. Considering the changes I'm going through now, the thought of me being the one cracking the whip in a few years isn't that far out there either...
I have thought about this one for a while too....it was a tough one! But then it hit me...I consider myself to be bisexual...so being sub to a really hot Domme would be yummy. Of course I wouldn't be bisexual there if I were a guy. Then again...I can imagine having a beautiful woman submit to me as her Dom would be very gratifying...and having learned some things from the Doms I have had...I would know just what to do to keep her happy and fulfilled! I'd definately be a sub as a female. While I can see both men and women as doms, I just see nothing appealing in any relationship with a sub male. (Maybe thats because I'm a dom male myself)
