Random Poetry...

(Just posting a poem I wrote awhile back. Its not much, and its certainly not my best, just the one I'm feeling at the moment. Get any hits, I'll post something else. Enjoy folks!)


You thought you could
I knew you would
But this life is mine
This thing I know is so divine

You thought I was different
I knew exactly what you meant
It wasn't meant to be, I'm too good
Oh, but I would

For just a moment, hold your hand
For just a moment, be a part of your band
You thought I'd stay
Just another quick lay

But I left you alone and cold
To grow bitter and old
I held all the cards this time
I played you into my rhyme

And now its over, you know it too
I wouldn't stay close to you
Can't say you didn't try
Or that I'm sorry that I made you cry

You'd better believe I'm gone for lost
A reminder of the cost
It took to make one foolish mistake
You were the real fake.

(Was reading them, and found one by Timberwolf that hit home. Call it corny, it inspired me.)



It happened so easily
I can't believe I've deceived them all by me
Its behind one thing, behind another
I can't believe I've hidden it from my own brother

This is the mask I wear
Behind this facade I cannot share
Its the shame I bear
Hidden from them because I care

They can't see me in this reality
Its beginning to boggle its complexity
This isn't me, the face they see
I don't know, they just wouldn't understand me

I fight and I rage
To become more and more the somber sage
Maybe then I can speak
Just so they won't see me be weak.

In time its my strength, my shield
Because only then can they yield
Before the one they love
And be this pure, this beautiful dove


(And this is what I get for writing poetry at 8 in the morning, having been awake for almost 24 hours.)
