Thanks for the kind words SB! I offer my apologies up front for the length of this piece. As an explanation; it was my not only my first scene, but also my first foray into real-world of S/m play, so there was lot going on, at least to me. It’s the true story, as best I can recall….
It’s funny how our instincts or natures as fetishists work. I’d recently moved into New York City. There had to be others here who shared my passions. It was Friday night and I knew that somewhere in this vast city, real people would be playing out my fantasies. I had to find them and join in; I needed to play, too.
I didn’t know anybody, or have a clue where to go, but instinctively I’d headed for the west village, home of the gay community. Though not gay myself, I knew that the guys over there would know what I was looking for; all I had to do was find them and start asking around. It took me about an hour to come up with the name and address for the Hellfire Club.
I’d arrived a little early and that was a bit of a mistake, as I was already having second thoughts about the sanity of this venture. Located on a side street, in a dark and nearly deserted section of the Chelsa District, I had, almost by luck, spotted the address on a black plywood doorway. No fancy sign marked this entrance, just a heavy chain with the very easy to miss street address painted on it. This is not what I had expected, but then, I didn’t know much about any of this. Before today, I’d never spoken a word of my fantasies to anyone; even today I had only revealed enough to get pointed in the right direction.
Anxiously I waited, until finally, with a startling rattle of the chain, the door was opened by a very large man clad in black leather from head to toe, a flogger hanging from his belt. Intimidated, I nearly walked away. “Is this The Hellfire Club?” I asked with some trepidation? “Down the stairs and to your right.” He replied flatly. “In a basement?” I nearly shouted out loud in disbelief and dismay.
Steeling my nerves and ignoring the panicky voice inside me, I made my way down the narrow concrete stairway. Turning the corner I came into a small foyer with a coat-check window, pictures on the walls, a few chairs; a setting much more fitting with what I had expected. Behind the window was another leather clad man who promptly flashed me a genuine smile, putting me somewhat more at ease. He then quickly informed me of the cost to enter, gave me a brief overview of the rules, stamped my hand and sent me on my way to explore and have a good time.
Easing my way blindly out into the main dungeon wearing blue jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt (black at least); I felt very much out of place. It was dark in here and it took several moments for my eyes to adjust. To my great relief, I saw at last, two women, one behind the bar and another sitting at it talking to the first. Other than the three of us, the room was deserted.
The bar itself was square in shape and fairly large, taking up roughly a third of the room and sat just off center at one end. There was seating all the way around it. After a slow pass once around the main dungeon, I made my way over to where the women were and sat one stool away from them with my back to the rest of the room. The one tending bar came right over, asked if I’d like something to drink and noted that she hadn’t seen me before. Settling on a beer, I admitted that I was both new to town and brand new to the “scene”. I had just learned that term a few hours ago while in the village.
Setting my beer in front of me she, she paused and our eyes met; she was sizing me up. In that split second, there it was again that instinct thing. In the same way that I’d known how to get here, I now knew that I was looking into the eyes of a kindred spirit. I had found someone like me and as I’d already noticed while retrieving my drink, she was a picture of fantasy in the flesh. About my age, I guessed and with a model’s figure. She had one of those leather “biker” caps on top of auburn hair and a collar around her neck. An unzipped leather vest revealed her perky breasts and taut belly when she moved. She explained that Hellfire was primarily a S/m or D/s club and that not a whole lot of bondage took place down there, some, but not too much. It was my turn to be disappointed. That’s when I mentioned that above all else, I was very tired of simply living in my fantasy world. I wanted, no, needed to play for real and with real people. After quick glance at the other woman, a mischievous grin appeared on her face. With a nod she introduced me to the woman on my right. She’d been listening in, but had thus far been silent.
Mistress Maddie, was her name and she was one of the “house” “Dommes”. Another new word, but a single glance was all anyone needed to deduce its meaning. She was in charge and not someone to trifle with. She motioned for me to sit next to her. We talked for quite a long time. Mostly she asked questions and I answered as best I could. Debbie chimed in when she wasn’t busy tending to a rapidly growing and eclectic crowd. Only an unusually loud smack, or scream, distracted me from our conversation, but for the most part Mistress Maddie held my rapt attention.
The gist of the hour long interview boiled down to five main points. One: I wanted to become a Bondage Top, but thought that it wise to learn from the bottom up. Two: I should learn at least the rudiments of the related S/m and D/s cultures, since I knew nothing about them, again from the bottom up. Three: and I had agreed to this, that from that moment on, when we were both in the club, I was hers, to do with as she pleased. Period. Four: when talking to her, anything coming out of my mouth had better begin and end with “Mistress”. Five: I was now to go back up to the front window, disrobe completely, give everything to “Frank” in the coat room, return quickly and kneel at her feet.
As I made my way through the now packed club, to the front window, I hoped that my external appearance wasn’t betraying the fact that internally I was totally freaking out; stunned by what I had just gotten myself into and mortified that I actually intended to do it! “Are you really this desperate to play?” My voice of reason pleaded desperately. “Keep right on going…right out that front door!” It screamed at me. “Quiet!” I screamed back silently (hopefully), at myself. “This is a public place...sort of…” I reasoned, trying to reassure myself. I’d been waiting my entire life for this! Well, not exactly this “get naked in front of everybody, S/m stuff”, but there was going to be real bondage and with a real person; I was not about to chicken out.
Without ceremony, I stripped and rolling my clothing up, dropped it into a grocery sack provided by Frank who then handed me a claim ticket. At the age of 27, though not ashamed of my physique, I’d never been thrilled with it either. At five foot, eight inches and around 170 pounds, I had what would be called a muscular build, though not the kind you get from going to the gym. My work kept me fit enough; I was strong, flexible and agile. I kept my blond hair cut short and had been told that I had great blue eyes. I hurried back to where Mistress Maddie was sitting and knelt awkwardly just off to the back and side of her stool where she had indicated.
Consumed and enveloped by heat waves of my embarrassment, I knelt there naked, as men and women alike began gathering around to see what would happen. Upon hearing several comments and little titters of laughter at my expense, I realized that word of my novice status had already made the rounds.
Trying to ignore the onlookers and in doing so, for the first time, I actually noticed what Mistress Maddie was wearing. Her shoulder length, dark brown hair fell over a beautifully stitched leather vest which covered a white button-down, long-sleeved satin or silk blouse, the cuffs turned up. A skintight and just-over-the-knee-length, black, leather skirt just covered the tops of her knee-high and tightly laced stiletto-heeled boots. She also had a wicked assortment of whips and canes dangling from a wide belt that encircled her waist. There were handcuffs too and a thin leather collar with attached leash, tucked neatly under her belt.
Mistress Maddie spun slowly round in her seat and surveyed the room. The main dungeon apparatus was once again vacant. She deftly slipped the collar from under her belt, around my neck and buckled it snuggly. With her eyes, she motioned for me to look at the apparatus behind me and I did. It wasn’t much more that two upright steel poles with another longer crosspiece at the top. Welded in the corners, were two short chains, each leading down to a single leather wrist cuff and an optional single handcuff. At about seven feet tall, it was designed to hold someone in a standing position with their arms overhead, spread wide.
“What is your tolerance for pain, slave?” she asked loudly enough for all nearby to hear. With that question, the play had begun.
“Mistress, I honestly have no idea what my pain tolerance is, Mistress.” I diligently and honestly replied. Pain had never been a part of my fantasy world.
“Good, shall we go find out then?” She cheerily asked.
“Mistress, I am curious to know as well, Mistress.” I lied with as much enthusiasm as I could muster. One little detail needed to be addressed. “Mistress, what do I do with this claim ticket, Mistress” I asked holding it up. The crowd parted as Mistress Maddie led me into the area under the crossbar. At first, Mistress Maddie simply walked around me a few times inspecting this and adjusting that: raising my chin, spreading my feet, positioning my butt…out…further still; all directed with light taps from a crop she’d slipped from her belt. Satisfied with my positioning, she paused in front of me and leaned in close, almost whispering, “Slave, turn your wrists and grab on to the chains, at no time will you ever hang directly from those cuffs, do you understand me?” “Mistress, no hanging from the cuffs, I understand, Mistress.” I whispered back, though not knowing why. She continued, “I will check in from time to time to see how you are doing, you must answer me honestly. There is no safe word, we are not role playing. If you cannot continue, you must tell me. Do you understand me, slave?” “Mistress, I will be very honest and will do my best to not embarrass you, Mistress.” I replied. Where that “embarrass you” part came from I didn’t know; it just came out, but it surprised us both and pleased her to hear it.
She started lightly, using the crop on my ass; a swat on one cheek and then one on the other. They stung a bit. I was focusing more on the bondage, the feel of cold steel, being helpless and trapped. That and watching this incredible woman moving around me so gracefully with a whip, I became aroused and an erection began to build. Mistress Maddie leaned in close breaking the spell, “Are you enjoying yourself so far slave?” “Mistress, yes I am enjoying this Mistress.” I replied honestly with surprise. She just smiled.
As she moved back around behind me and off to my left; she pulled free a piece of bamboo cane. Twice, very lightly, she tapped my ass across both cheeks, lining up her shot; then drew back and let me have it hard with that bamboo rod. Whack! It hit like a lightning bolt and hurt worse than the first, but I managed to keep my feet on the ground this time. I heard “oohs” and “aahs” from the out in the room. “Mistress, One, Mistress.” I counted.
“Slave, what did I tell you about full sentences?” She countered. “Shit!” I panicked in thought. I’d heard other counting going on, but my mind was drawing a blank, still reeling from the intense pain. “Mistress, that makes the count one, Mistress.” I tried hopefully. She chuckled a bit.
Whack! I was back up on my toes again. Thunder roaring in my ears, sweat began dripping off my nose; I wasn’t sure how many of these I could take. Mistress Maddie strolled casually around peering intently into my eyes. Hers were ablaze. “Mistress, that makes the count two, Mistress.” I strained defying the pain. The crowd had grown larger and they didn’t seem too damn bored now. My earlier arousal had been extinguished with the first stripe. I was gripping the chains rather than the other way around.
Whack! Whack! Whack! A quick succession about a second apart, the blows fell, each one a bit harder than the proceeding and landed a bit lower. Sheer willpower kept my toes close to the floor and the third stroke forced the breath from my lungs in a guttural yowl. Electric spasms shot through me, white hot lights danced before my eyes mixing with the deafening roar in my head. An eternity passed before I could get my muscles to relax enough to allow my lungs to breathe air and words to form. “Mistress, that makes the count three, Mistress. Mistress, that makes the count four, Mistress. Mistress, that makes the count five, Mistress. I finally winced out in agony.
“Very good, slave!” Mistress Maddie extolled. She then caressed the raging inferno that was my ass by pressing up against hard it with her hips and pulling me in tight; the smooth cool leather soothing and dissipating the searing pain. All too soon, she pulled away and moved back around in front of me. Again, she pressed up close against me. After she let me down from the crossbar, she had me kiss her boots and then led me back through an appreciative crowd to the bar. Debbie couldn’t wait to inspect my ass. Two of the welts from the bamboo cane, were oozing a bit of blood. She retrieved some antiseptic from behind the bar and stingingly applied it. Mistress Maddie praised me for my efforts, returned my claim check, released me from her collar and then to my great disappointment had to leave for the night.
I left the Hellfire Club much later that night with a new found spring in my step and a very sore ass. I had a new friend and “big sister”, Debbie. Mistress Maddie had allowed me my bondage and introduced both S/m and D/s into my world. I had found my way from fantasy to reality. In an odd sense, I felt as though I’d finally come home.
