I'm the oldest child out of 4 girls and I'm a submissive. I've always had to take care of the other 3. Especially my 2 half-sisters cuz they are a good 7-8 years younger than me. When their mother died, they were still kids and looked to me for help after that.

That said, the 2 middle girls are both self-centered bitches...lol Now me, and my youngest sister...we are both submissive. Which is kinda weird too cuz of the 4 of us...she and I are the Daddy's girls. Hmmmm...

edit: just noticed..the majority of both submissives and Dominants seem to be the oldest child.

I had noticed it too... and, with the exception of the Female Dominates, and reading through the posts both here and in other threads, it almost seems to reason that first borns are more natural to this life. Although with males the natural inclination is to be Dominate, always in charge and with females, while we may be in charge in other areas (where we pretty much have to be) of our lives we enjoy (or is that need/desire/wish) to give up control when we can.

Have to admit though that I'm surprised that, so far the only male sub to take the poll, is an oldest child. For some reason I always assumed that male subs were the youngest in the family.

Still curious to see how the results finally come out, but honestly, at this point my previous personal hypothesis seems to be proving true, with a few exception (like noted above).

If you notice, there also seems to be a correlation between being an only female child and being a sub.

There's no option for me -- my only sibling is my twin brother. I'm submissive, and he is a switch, I guess, involved with a submissive woman. My husband is the oldest child in a big family and is primarily dominant.

Youngest (only sibling is my older brother), female, sub.

Brother is dom, for a bit of additional info that's not inthe poll results.

Interesting. No male subs browse these forums? or didnt want to take the poll?

I find it hard to believe this is representitive of the kinky population as I imagine male subs are a rather LARGE demographic.
