I'd like to be allowed to take part in the course.

Naturally, of course, I want to feel as though it is possible to set oneself apart from other applicants, but even before reading some of the exceptional work on this site and in this forum, I knew that all writers share some common traits regardless of how different their styles of expression and storytelling may be.

One trait is Urgency. When an idea strikes, when the mental tumblers in a writer's brain click into place and he or she gets that blissful rush of inspiration, it obligates that person to start forming the idea into something he or she can share. There's urgency in that need, no matter how long it takes to be sated, and a similar urgency in sharing the results of one's efforts when they're finally complete.

Another trait is Passion. All writers love words. We fall in love with syllables, we shiver at a turn of phrase we find melodic. We're depressed and heartbroken when the words abandon us. . . in fact we sit and stare blankly at empty pages in the way a spurned lover might stare at an old photograph of the person with whom he or she can no longer be. Passion drives us, no matter what the subject matter.

These traits, among others I've noticed, are two of the primary forces that compel me to write and bring out a desire to share what I've written. In an effort to improve the quality of the results of my work, I would like to be part of your 4-level course.

Thanks!
