Sub Space

Okay, so i was wondering if any sub had actually experienced sub space (or anything that they would consider similar to that) on this site, and if so if anybody would mind sharing what triggered your response, what your dom did, and how everything played out.

Im just curious because most information on sub space on the web isn't first hand account, and i'd like to hear if anyone's been through this before.

Subspace is a metaphor for the state the bottom's mind and body is in during a deeply involved play scene. Many types of BDSM play invoke strong physical responses. i believe that i have experienced it on enough occasions with enough consistancy in experience to say its subspace. i lose complete track of time, my sensations get mixed up...like a drop of sweat may feel very hot when it hits my skin, i become incoherent yet i think i am using words, i sometimes tremble all over. as i come out of it i usually become conscious of being very cold and need to be wrapped up and as i get a strong feeling of vulnerabilty for which i have name ppv (post play vulnerabilty) sometimes that lasts for quite a while. as for what brings it on, that varies...sometimes i go there quite easily and other times it takes a fairly intense session. Pain isn't always the thing that brings me there either. Master has His own tricks for that He would have to explain as i am usually surprised that so much time has passed. i had never done any reading on the subject and didn't know what it was when it happened and Master was kind enough to explain it to me, but it wasn't scary at all. the only note is that i can't be trusted to use safewords and he has to keep an eye on me especially with any bindings as i can't always tell when things aren't right when in subspace

I have never been aware of being in subspace but on at least one occasion I have been in it because, afterwards, Mistress told me that she reckoned I was well into subspace at one point. Losing track of time certainly seems like a familiar sensation but I don't think I was in it as deeply as bad kitty describes... I have a video of the time I was in it but have never watched it to see if there were any physical symptoms.

I have a dissociative disorder as well (DDNOS). I have not slipped into subspace but when those of you speak about subspace I know where you are talking about. I have been there on many occassions. Yes, IMHO if you have suffered a dissociation disorder it would be much easier to 'go there' as your body and mind have been there many, many times before.

Its hard to say, Bad Kitty, because there are too many variables involved and unless we could get a version of you who had the same life as you but didn't have the disorder we can't tell if you would have the same response without it. Do any of your symptoms of sub space match those of your particular disorder? If so, then maybe.

If your disorder no longer causes you problems in everyday life and you enjoy your subspace then I don't really see it as a problem. If something happening in play was likely causing you to have symptoms of the disorder in everyday life then you may have to do something about it.

i don't really worry about it, i was just pondering as it seems that what i took for granted isn't necessarily a given. i was more wondering if some people are just more "prone" to subspace than others. as far as my disorder, it is seemingly not triggered by what W/we do, not that i have noticed. its funny how despite the roughness of what W/we do, He is the only man i have ever felt safe with. All the vanilla guys usually did more to cause illness for me and the one of this type of relationship is by far where i feel healthiest. i am not going to question my way out of this, i am just curious by nature.

i believe thus far i have experience it once. my reactions were a bit different. i do know time passed without my knowledge because Master told me how long W/we had been in that situation. i just remember that i had an intense (and i mean I-N-T-E-N-S-E) "i don't care" attitude. Some of the old school peeps that trained me often said sub space is something one could only achieve if at all during super high intensity painful sessions and that it was a rare almost sacred occurrence.

In my own experience I have come to recognize several different varieties and levels of it.

Sometimes I hit a version of it and no one has so much as even laid a finger on me.

The main way I’ve managed to slide into it or something like it is usually through a combination of humiliation, intense duration positional Shibari induced muscle tension and orgasm on command.

I also suppose however similar it may be for everyone that experiences it, that in fact its actually also unique for each one, heck sometimes the "sub space" place for me isn’t even always the same sensation, some times its not even always a good place for me to be in; especially if I drop later.
