    What is it called?

Not sure just where to put this, so I figure this is a good a place as any. Mods, feel free to move this if it's in the wrong spot.
There is a whip sort of thinger at my local sex shoppe and I want to know what on earth it is called. It's pretty much like a ponytail. Lots and lots and lots of, I assume, synthetic hairs, with a solid leather handle. Leaves the nicest welts and tiny cuts.... mmmmmm....
    Help me out?

Ohhhh, I hope nobody comes up with the answer to this - 'whip sort of thinger' has to be by far the best name for it.

Could be a synthetic stranded flogger....
One kiss, and each spot of soreness - each little tender contusion - was transformed. Instead of pain, each bruise was filled with pleasure. It was as if . . . as if a clitoris sprang up in the place of every bruise, and when he kissed me I climaxed, again and again." -- The Door to December by Dean Koontz

Tiny cuts sounds like real horse hair, but synthetic rules that out.

ok what you are describing doesn't sound like a cat o' nine tails...

cats have..well..9 tails! LOL (an example is the first pic below) there are different kinds of cats, but the traditional style is the single tails with either knots in them or braids.

the second image is of a horse hair flogger..

it definitely SOUNDS like a horse hair flogger...whether it's synthetic hair or not...i dunno...lol
