I want to know how many of you LOVE the smell of an aroused partner. Men have a distinct smell as well when they are aroused, the first time the underwear comes off is so hot because instantly even if I couldn't see it, I can smell it. So hot

Do you get turned on by your own smell of arousal? The first time I really smelt my self when I was very turned on was a surprise for me and then a turn on. The first time someone smelt my underwear after I took it off was wicked. At first I was all NOOO don't do that, followed by OMG that so damn hot, he REALLY LIKES the way I smell.

If you want your partner to know how much you want them part of it is telling them over and over that they smell wonderful to you. I had someone very blatently smell me all over like some animal during sex and that was so hot, primitive, basic, we are all animals after all. We are taught that to have any natural body scent at all, that its wrong and dirty and yet its such an important part of the sensual experience. Some times I wonder if, when I am very horny and out in public if people can somehow smell it coming off me and the idea of that also makes me hot. After all all animals in heat give off odors to attract a mate and we are no different. Arousal smells different as does fear, stress, sweat after a hard work out, illness and so on.

I love the smell of a mans chest too, nothing but his own scent, I don't know why. Its so oddly comforting and so him. It is not always about sex. The smell of your child, mother or any other close person can be an incredibly strong bonding thing. I can at times still close my eyes and remember how my babies smelt, the smell of my milk when i fed them. Scent is an extraordinary thing for memory recall.

Smell adds one more layer to the whole of experiencing, knowing and being intimate with someone. After all you don't just know what a stranger smells like, but if your partner walked into a dark room with you and stood near , just the smell of them lets you know they are there and that's pretty cool. At times just thinking about certain smells is enough to make me close my eyes for a second and hum to myself for a second because of strong associations a with a moment.

Anyone else think the same or am I rather strange about how much I enjoy that as a whole part of being with someone? I can not be the only one who loves that part of the sensual world too.

I agree, Widget. Smell is important to arousal for me. I love the way my husband smells...and tastes - I think the two senses are intertwined to some degree.

Smell seems to be a key to some of my memories also - every few years I get a whiff of an odor I can't describe and I'm 9 again, in my grandma's apartment in New York City (which I only visited twice) and the memory is sooo vivid. The rest of the time I can barely remember it.

Oh, Widget.......you've brought up an aspect that i find so incredibly sexy...scent (particularly an aroused body's scent!).....mine and my partner's!..i am tempted to say that is an integral part of attraction, as i could never be interested sexually in someone with a scent i found distasteful ..no, just would NOT happen! I'm not talking, either, about what type of cologne (ok, so i am referring to a man, here!) that person wears, either...but that very personal body scent.

I used to be so uncomfortable with my own scent (was it a turn on or a turn off?)...but i finally realized that hey, it's natural (and YES, i do bathe on a regular basis!)......and i haven't gotten any complaints! (rather, the opposite!)...

Scent is something very primitive. Our society has been taught to mask our very personalized and human body odors ...hey, some folks are making BILLIONS by selling us products to do just that, big money is on the line! And, frankly, i LIKE and will continue to buy some of those products...i'm too "well taught" not to!

If you've ever read Proust's "Rememberances of Things Past"..(alright, I didn't read the whole thing, few people do!)..there is a very well-known passage about lime-blossom tea and madelines (little French cakes)...it really combines scent and taste, but he makes the point that in using those senses, he can be easily transported back to childhood.

On a side note..Shower to Shower powder always takes me back (instantly!) to one very hot & steamy interlude i had when i was 17....it's HARD to find Shower to Shower NOW! (Must make more of an effort!, <smile>)

I do not like the scent of ... icky sweaty balls.... my mate is not "clipped" so sometimes the scent her carries is not so pleasant.
