    BDSM in Films

What films can you think of that contain BDSM.

I can only think of three; The Secretary, Gothika and Chaos (Japanese thriller). I'd like to watch some more so any suggestions would be appreciated ty ^_^

Secretary (US, with Maggie Gyllenhall) and Romance (France, with Caroline Ducey; known in the US as Romance X) are both about a journey into a bdsm relationship (spanking, bondage) and in both films it's seen as liberating, a kind of self-discovery and steady point in a harsh world.

Secretary leans toward a rom-com, at some points it looks like a parody of the rom-com genre, but it's a warm and teasy movie and very turning on at some points; interesting people too. Romance is more serious, more "artsy", more hardcore bdsm (great bondage scenes and, before she gets there, a long, vivid and nicely shot sex scene with none other than Rocco Siffredi - allegedly that was "real bed-up" all the way).

The masquerade orgy scene of Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut suggests bdsm too, at any rate the women are naked, apart from their face masks, fantastic headgear and, for some of them, fig leaves, and submittting to being used by initiated strangers - their body language shows that very clearly. Beautifully shot and with a powerful erotic feel about it, but not really a "hard-on movie" in the restricted sense - the entire film merits being seen (over and over) and thought about for what it brings to the surface about sexual drive and about sex in our time.

The Madonna one is called Body of Evidence I think - haven't seen it - or did she direct one of her own later? Lots of movies contain brief bdsm scenes of course, often it's more like a spice than any serious facing with the reality and the ideas - I've noticed it's gotten really fashionable in the last ten to twenty years to use bdsm and/or incest if you want to suggest somebody is "crossing the bounds of the permitted, of ordinary morals" (examples: Bertolucci's The Dreamers, Cronenberg's Videodrome) Of course, lots of cheap thrillers and serial killer movies have "good bondage and psycho scenes" too, but that's not it...

Oh yes - Belle de Jour (dir. by Luis Buñuel, France, 1967) with the dazzling Catherine Deneuve. Too good to describe even though it doesn't really explain much about why she's into it. Get it, steal it, watch it!

    http://imdb.com/title/tt0109758/

Elliot begins falling in love with Lisa, the head mistress of the island, and Lisa must evaluate her feelings about Elliot and her own motivations.

Troubled by his own repressed sexuality, Elliot embarks on a trip to an island of libertinage and sexual release, not realising he has become the target for a criminal's vendetta. Any film having willing submission. Or even unwilling. I'll admit that it'll give quite a lot to chose from.

i have the book of that, its written by anne rice author of the beauty series among others, never knew there was a movie although the plot sounds slightly different theres no cops or diamonds involved.

is it any good, the books not great but i think if done well and as uncensored as possible for mainstream films it could be ok...though a porn version would be better lol.

Whoops Apocalypse (very old British comedy) has a scene where a kidnapped Princess is 'hidden' as a sex slave in a travelling sex shop - bound, hooded, dressed in leather nd displayed for customers to look at. Silly film all told. If you like The Pink panther you may like this... I like it for that scene and the wonderful portrayal of the incompetent SAS squad at the end... including a joke the Simpsons used later (big black vans with 'Saunders And Simpkins spe******t catering' on them - big S, big A, big S

And of course the Simpsons parodied that BDSM scene in pulp fiction in a pulp fiction parody...

Don't forget 'The Piano Teacher' -that was an excellent one.

There's also some German movie, where two young guys find a family on holiday. They whack the father in the knee with a golf club, & tie his wife up rather securely. Can't remember the name of that, it was a horror & quite good.

If anyone knows the name of that, I'd like to watch it again.

Coppola's The Cotton Club has a definite undertone of bdsm - Dixie Dwyer the innocent young cornet player (Richard Gere) and Vera (Diane Lane; his love interest, but as they both know she's also involved with gangster bigshot Dutch Schultz) are both used at the mercy of Schultz. "You don't belong to me; you're Dutcj's property" Dixie says at one point as Vera is trying to get him up to her place and into bed after a nerve-racking incident. She humphs and disappears behind a big iron-grille gate, like into a cage.

Great movie, too, brilliantly acted and cut - and unlike many gangster movies it aims to give a kind of rounded picture of Harlem and the NYC gangster world in the late '20s, without losing speed for that.

lately i see more and more movies and even tv shows that suggest bdsm in it. not sceans persay but more of a subtile message. i think that most dragon movies and fantasy ones r more likely to suggest bdsm in it. but hey it may just be me wanting it sooo much that i see it everywere *lolol*

The movie was a comedy and I have mixed feelings about it. Rosie O'Donnell in a dominatrix leather corset, (shivers in terror). Dana Delany nude, dressed and however, INCREDIBLY EXCITING.

I thought Rice's book was much more erotic and I liked it very much. The movie is good for a few wonderfully sexy scenes and Dana Delany.

    My two cents. LOL

I haven't seen it in a million years, but didn't "A Clockwork Orange" have some BDSM elements in it? I seem to remember a wife in a non-con sexual situation while husband was forced to watch. Hmmm....

The whole of A clockwork orange was based on the perpetrator of a violent rape being punished. There are also strong elements of thought control.

On the theme of sci fi movies... Brazil has those really bizarre combined strait jacket/hood things that are very kinky and Michael Palin as an affable family man torturer.

    F. Alexander was forced to watch his wife be raped, but I don't really think that's BDSM.

So does anyone know the name of that German(?) movie??

It starts off with a family driving to a lakeside house, with a big security fence around it. Mum, Dad & woosy son in the Range Rover listening to classical music as they drive to the holiday house.

A couple of young guys come in through a hole in the fence, supposedly to borrow some eggs- but turn out to be nutters. One smashed the father's knee with a golf club & they tied the wife up.

They keep coming & going in a small sailboat across the lake.

It's a horror movie, & maybe not the greatest, but kind of intriguing.

Any great minds out there know what it was called??

Oh- & don't forget 'The Collector' an old B/W classic kidnap movie.

Now last year someone mentioned Dogville as a BSDM film. I does have it's moments. The cruelty of the residents is beyond compare. "Now see if you can not cry while I break you pretty little things"

My Fair lady has some D/s undertones to it. In fact I read someones own little summary of the movie and it made me realize that there were many more than I had originally thought.

And yu can always watch phantom of the opera.

Neither of these have people in bondage but the play around with mental aspects some.

Real Men had a funny scene with Jim Belushi falling in love with a Female Dom.

Wild Wild West movie showed a dungeon from an 1800's brothel.

Bachelor Party when they tied up her father all dressed in leather.

Mel Brooks "High Anxiety" with Cloris Leachman as the Domnant and Harvey Korman as the sub.

i think Madonna's was called "Body of Evidence.

Vidoedrome was kinky in a very strange way.

"The Image" directed by Radley Metzger is probably THE definitive BDSM movie. It's got whips & chains & needles & humiliation, etc. Its star, Mary Medum, is stunningly beautiful. Its also known as "The Punishment of Anne", and is based on the novel L'Image by Jean deBerg.

I watched the pet with Master and while it had an intriguing premise, we found of slightly odd >_> as a pet she does very animalish things like playing fetch and such and she barks but never talks and (I know it doesn't HAVE to be) there was nothing sexual about it at all... It's kind of about the sex trade and kind of about harvesting organs >_> just warning you

The acting in "The Pet" was also... interesting at best. It certainly made for some fun laughs, though. Parts of it were extraordinarily cute, though.
