Aye...Carey did state plainly that this was a movement to the next generation and Phedre would not be a central part of the action, but I didn't really get enough energy from Imriel to keep me as involved as I was with the first trilogy. There's only so much guilty-angsty-indecisive teenager I can take before I want to scream. And the sex was...well, horrid.

All in all, a rough start, but I still hold hopes the next books will improve things.

And yes...I honestly left it thinking I'd have much prefered a book about sidonie.
