In general I believe less is more: provided whatever technique you use (to highlight or make visible a difference) works adequately, there is no need to make the readers life more demanding by adding. It can detract; it can lead the eye to concentrating on the wrong thing. Also, italics in bulk can be hard to read.

I think I would probably just try various different options and see what it looked like! cyberwise, this seemed to work fine, lol.
