*** I am looking for some advice from the experienced players among us. If you haven't attempted fire play, please pay attention, but please don't dilute the thread with misinformation. ***
My question about fire play stems from an article I found on honey.
http://www. wikihow.com/Verify-the-Purity-of-Honey
In that article they mention that honey will burn if on a cotton wick.
This is something I didn't know. So I began to wonder at what speed does it burn, and does it burn cool like paraffin or does it burn hot like scented candles? Would it be safe to place on a body, if not could you line a glass table for aesthetic appeal expecting it to burn for a given time period? Also wonder what kind of fumes it puts off, does it smell good or does it stink?* Get a lighter and a candle with a cotton wick. This test is better if you don't have as much honey to spare.
* Dip the cotton wick of the candle into a bit of the honey, and shake off the excess.
* Attempt to light the wick. If it burns, then it is completely pure honey. If it refuses to burn, then the presence of water is not allowing the wick to burn. (If there is only a very small amount of honey on the wick, though, it might still burn. It will produce a crackling sound, and it would be best to blow out the wick and try it again this time using more honey.)
