    Advice: Fire Play Question

*** I am looking for some advice from the experienced players among us. If you haven't attempted fire play, please pay attention, but please don't dilute the thread with misinformation. ***

My question about fire play stems from an article I found on honey.

    http://www. wikihow.com/Verify-the-Purity-of-Honey

In that article they mention that honey will burn if on a cotton wick.

    * Get a lighter and a candle with a cotton wick. This test is better if you don't have as much honey to spare.
    * Dip the cotton wick of the candle into a bit of the honey, and shake off the excess.
    * Attempt to light the wick. If it burns, then it is completely pure honey. If it refuses to burn, then the presence of water is not allowing the wick to burn. (If there is only a very small amount of honey on the wick, though, it might still burn. It will produce a crackling sound, and it would be best to blow out the wick and try it again this time using more honey.)
This is something I didn't know. So I began to wonder at what speed does it burn, and does it burn cool like paraffin or does it burn hot like scented candles? Would it be safe to place on a body, if not could you line a glass table for aesthetic appeal expecting it to burn for a given time period? Also wonder what kind of fumes it puts off, does it smell good or does it stink?

The combustion of sugar shouldn’t produce anything of much greater toxicity than a regular candle. However, it will burn much hotter than regular wax.

I have nothing to offer in the way of information, but when you do find out about it, will you come tell us here?? Please?

And if I do find or discover anything in regards to this, I'll run right back here and post.

    Deal? Oh, I hope so!

Just tell him to share it or risk being bitten.

Back to topic, I saw a documentary about a female performer, who even after several years of fire play still managed to scar herself (seriously hurt during those times) a couple of times. So I think the sub should be prepared to live with the small possibility of a scar.

You can buy honey candles at some herb and vitamin shops. They are risky to use because unlike wax it is hard to cool quickly. Once it hits the body if it is still too hot it just continues to burn and can scar deeply. Have you ever had bubbling cheese on you? It is a lot like that putting ice on it only cools the part touching the ice and then the cooled cheese or honey crusts and insulates so the burning continues.

Sir Russell, Your knowledge on these things is amazing I'm so grateful you are back with us. *hugs*
One kiss, and each spot of soreness - each little tender contusion - was transformed. Instead of pain, each bruise was filled with pleasure. It was as if . . . as if a clitoris sprang up in the place of every bruise, and when he kissed me I climaxed, again and again." -- The Door to December by Dean Koontz

Have to go with Russel. I might use burning honey as a window dressing, but not directly in play.
