Knickers is pronounced would be pronounced with a K, k-nickers in Dutch. However I speak Dutch and have never heard knickers in contemprary use and my wife (ex- sort of) who is Dutch and only heard the word when she moved to England and thought it a comical sounding. I used to have old soccer programmes from the fifties and soccer shorts were described as knicker in them.
