Lightbulb "Power Exchange" story idea ...

    PREFATORY REMARKS.
Hi! I'm Marco. I have a story idea involving a concept I call "power exchange". There are "Master/slave" undertones but the context is strictly from actual present-day life experience and only analogous to sexual relations between those perceived as "masters" and their "sexslaves". The following storyline is posted to generate serious input and literarily useful responses. As an author I'm a "big boy" (As opposed to my personal profile and sexual persona!), so, I do not get into a "dither" regarding POSITIVELY-stated useful literary criticism. (Be aware, however, that I can discern negativism from positivism and a negatively-stated criticism will get the "surgically accurate" rebuttal such deserves ... ha, ha!) O.k., that stated, "on with the storyline"!

    STORYLINE.
In Classical Egypto-Greco-Roman eras there were slavemarkets where persons of both sexes were for-sale for a variety of uses, the comeliest more often than not intended for a life as a personal sex object of a mistress and/or master or both. (If this sounds too clinical, then we can more "artfully" describe the human "merchandise" as boy or girl "sexmeat" for-sale to the ruling class holding the reins of financial power!)

Today, in "proto-imperial" America, there are MANY cultural "taboos" flowing from various mistakes and/or mischances in American socio-psycho-cultural development. One of these, of course, is slavery and boy or girl "sexmeat" for-sale; others are boy/boy sex and girl/girl sex (the latter arbitrarily objected-to disproportionately less than the boy/boy variant), "forced" (or, at least, "transactionally compelled") sex, any of a variety of "power disparity" relationships whether they be boy/girl, girl/boy, boy/boy, or girl/girl, and various "menages" in-which a privileged-class couple "owns" boy and/or girl "sexmeat" as a consequence of a transaction.

"Proto-imperial" America's closest equivalents are the "temporary ownership" of boy and/or girl "sexmeat" as contained in a transaction for prostitution, and the delightfully decadent mileau I term "the illegitimate stage": clubs and bars where naked boy or girl dancers are featured as "entertainment" for customers with money and a perceived privileged-class orientation. (I am experienced in the latter equivalent, naked dancing, and it is this mileau which serves as the storyline's basis and analogy to the slavemarkets of Classical Antiquity.)

Imagine, then, a boy or girl (Or both: such a club is rare but not wholly unprecedented nor unrepresented.) naked dancer club or bar. Imagine that there are bar counters and, perhaps, several low pedestals that are termed "stages". The customers' expectations at such clubs and bars is, for the exchange of "paper" (money, of which they have much.), they will gain unlimited rights to appraise (from "the shadows" or "upclose and personal") the boy or girl "sexmeat" on display (and presumably "for-sale" for sex acts). The customers also expect that their appraisal of a club's or bar's "offerings" has nothing to do with a given naked dancer's consent as, once "paper" is exchanged, there is neither an expectation of a dancer's resistance nor expectation of any dancer's protestations of modesty. It is this essential distinction between monied customers' self-perceptions (of their privileged- class status and freedom of action vis-a-vis naked dancers' public perception [if not, precisely, the dancers' own self-perception] of being sexually "available" to the monied and powerful as objectified "sex-meat") which lays at the core of the "power exchange" story idea.

Imagine, then, the "line-up" on-bartop of a naked boy (Indulge me please!) dancer club: 6-8 young males of varying heights/sexual "dimensions" and diverse ethnicities. All, however, are quite comely and sexually attractive each in a unique way. Imagine also that these naked dancers are not quite "naked": each wears the legally mandated "costume" of ... a pair of socks (customarily white)! Imagine finally that all of the boys are friendly, smiling, accomodating, and in various stages of lewd public display of "frontal" arousals and/or lewd display of rear sexual "apertures" to customers appraising them as potential "sexmeat".

    CONCLUSORY INVOCATION.
Stopping at this point (A good story builds tension!), and before commencing the post(s) of "chapter(s)" advancing the storyline, the author invites positive constructive criticism. Is the modern analogy (flawed in some details) to a slavemarket of Classical Antiquity apparent? Is it believeable (or, more precisely, is it sufficiently believeable that a reader can "willingly suspend disbelief" [as one does in fantasy] to enjoy and "get-into" the story)? Is the potential for exploration of "power exchange" in sexual relations apparent? Is there a powerful enough quotient in modern America's socially disapproved "illegitimate stage" mileau to believeably explore "Master/slave" sexual relating and slave "sexmeat" objectification? (Commentators are, of course, invited to express opinions beyond the "box" of the questions above. However, the questions do address key elements of literary merit and I do request some attention to the questions themselves.)

    Respectfully submitted,
    ... Marco.
