    Too little sex?

I've been through quite a few stories from the site, and must admit I've had a great time reading some of them. -However-, most of them seem sex-based -- not to say they aren't well-written, or there isn't any plot, but simply that sex is a main element of the story. I wonder if there's any demand for a story that contains slavery as the main element, but is relatively 'clean' (stress on 'relatively') where sex is concerned? At least for the first few chapters or so? Because most of the time I hear people saying that BDSM stories -are- for people to get off on, and thus the writer shouldn't put in any more detail/plot than necessary for the sex to be credible. However, for me, I find that subtle hints of sex in the whole story is far more interesting, than for the whole story to be full of it. No offense to anyone who thinks the opposite, of course, everyone is different after all. Just wondering if anyone might think the same as I do?

It doesn't sound unreasonable at all. I've often heard people say that the BDSM isn't just about sex, and I tend to agree with that sentiment. It's possible to find stories like that, but I think you'd have to do some searching. I think a lot of times a writer gets criticized for not having enough sex and then gets discouraged with the work entirely. Anyway, I'll have a look around and see if I can find any that fit the bill (as I understand it, anyway.). If I find anything, I'll put it in a new category on my bookshelf.

    Take care!

Thanks for the reply, and to those who PMed But my intention of asking was actually due to the fact that I was considering writing one, and was wondering if it'd have any 'audience' here. Or perhaps if I should take it to a general fics site. It's hard to decide when it's right in the middle like that, too pervy to be considered clean but not nearly as pervy as everything else here! :help:

    I'll read it!!!

I tend to be much more character oriented, and find myself putting what I would consider too many details into some thing written for this site. I have about four to five unfinished shorts for that exact reason....(well that and I think I'm a somewhat poor author)

But I digress, I was saying that I like the story, and the changes in the peoplpe involved. Far too many of the capture stories for example miraculously lead to the captured individual becoming turned on by the pain and humiliation their captors put them through with little to no explanation mentally as to why they changed.

    So yeah, I'd read it.

    4 sure!

i really enjoy stories that have a plot and character development and all that literary stuff! i especially like it when a story i like is listed a few chapters at a time. it keeps me interested, i have enough time to read the latest installment without getting caught at the puter for too long, and it surely is a joy to look through the 'Update' list and see the author and title i have been waiting for the next chapter of!! so, yes please!! bring it on!!

I would be inclined to read it. IN fact, one of my stories had almost no sex at all. It was called "The Wish". One of the comments I had on it was something to the effect of - on a sex site like this you should have more sex.

Needless to say I disagree entirely with the reviewer. I do not think BDSM is necessarily inclusive of sex just as I don't believe that D/s is necessarily inclusive of BDSM. A lot of folks disagree with this statement but I have involved myself, primarily, in relationships heavy on the D/s and less so on the BDSM.

Write your tale - include the same caveat that I included...that there would be little sex involved. It may get poor reviews from those who want sex, but those who understand a good story may enjoy it all the more.

    Thanks! :)

Thanks for the encouragement, guys, I'll try to have it up when my college finals and stuff are over My idea revolved around a fantasy-world setting, with two lands at war. A girl from one was sent to spy on the other, disguised as one of their own, and then caught and enslaved by the high-standing official whom she faked a relationship with (merciful guy -- he could've killed or tortured her to death). But he had a sadistic, diabolical brother whom she'd spurned haughtily one too many times, who seized the opportunity and..well.. . Comments? Suggestions? Should this be in 'Story Ideas' instead of here, in the first place?

Are there railroad tracks involved? Diabolical makes me think of a moustachioed dastard with a penchant for railroad tracks and dynomite.

Hmm, I wonder how a Dudley Doright BDSM story would work.
