I prefer the traditional quirt for general purposes.

For assaults on areas requireing precision I prefer a crop, or a "switch".

For serious breaches of rules I rarely need to have her fetch my "Slut-Get-Right" stick, which many would also call a type of cane. It is actually my own modification of some PeX pipe (very limber water supply tube) simular but not as ridged as PVC and basically shatter proof (unlike PVC and or real canes).

Other than that it is hands on. Though in a pinch a wide variety of objects can work as improvised implements, shuch as the venusian blinds closer dangeling on the inside of nearly every hotel window.
